Lovely stay in the Lakes!

We had a lovely stay at Mosscrag. The B and B has a wonderful spot and the facilities were good, and very clean and cosy. The cooked breakfasts were the real star of the visit! Mark and April were very friendly and welcoming and had lots of local information - useful when we were treated to typical Lakeland weather. We will definitely be back.
Uncomfortable poor value b&b

Over priced small room with an ensuite just big enough for a toilet, very small basin and a not particularly inviting shower. The TV controller needs a good clean ! An indicator of how we felt about staying in Mosscrag.
Functional, pretty much

Stayed here to avoid paying the absurd prices elsewhere in the area as like many others was attending a wedding at the inn on the lake nearby. It's still expensive considering - £90 for a double room. That sounds OK but the rooms are really really tiny. The decor and cleanliness is OK, the bed was OK, but the shower was execrable and that's a fairly important detail to me which could be rectified with some investment. The wi-fi signal's pretty dreadful anywhere except for the hall, which could be presumably be fixed very cheaply with some signal boosters.
The breakfast is substantial and of a reasonable quality. The location's obviously stunning and thankfully Glenridding seems to be humming along well even if there are still flood repairs ongoing.
The proprietors were very nice and helpful and the place did the job, it's just overpriced. Like everything else in the Lakes I suppose.
It was time for another visit with a difference!

We love nothing more than trying out different places to eat, drink and sleep. This particular area has always been special for our family and it was time for another visit with a difference.
The intention was to stay local and then meet with family for a surprise nearby. Having taken a look through tripadvisor checked out this great little place we wanted something affordable but with a good reputation.
I have to say it was luck of the draw if we'd manage to get a place as it's a popular place to stay. I'd called and booked our stay. Having checked out the reviews, we felt very happy with our decision.
We enjoyed the drive up and parked just outside to then see the typical grey stoned front on a new road right next to the river. It had a homely look and once inside we felt at ease.
They have a small step up to the entrance and all rooms are upstairs. Breakfast room at the front looking out towards the fells and a sitting room with a small bar in the backroom.
It was a great cosy place. We stayed in room two which was ideal for the price. It's clean and tidy, functional amenities with an ensuite toilet and shower cubicle.
This didn't bother us in the slightest, yes it was compact but it was an affordable place to stay with everything we needed. It was lovely having the window open and listening to the river, very relaxing.
Mark and April are great, very friendly and obliging to our requirements. The breakfast was excellent. We then joined our family for a meal nearby. We wouldn't hesitate to book again it is important to support independent local businesses.
Lovely little place

Had a lovely stay here for two nights with a wowcher deal. Lovely room with a comfortable bed and A nice bottle of prosecco. A gorgeous full English breakfast on a mornin to set you up for the day, the owner Màrk was a nice man with a good sense of humour. Met a great couple from up near Blackpool who we had a good laugh with.
