From the moment I booked this home with Roberto, he went above and beyond in helping us book all of our excursions, and recommended the best restaurants and even made reservations for us. Once we arrived to the house, we were greeted with ice cold drinks, and introduced to the staff. The cooks arrive every morning and make an amazing breakfast buffet for you and also make your rooms as well. There is also a live in staff member who is available to help you with whatever you may need during your stay. The house itself was amazing. From the pool, to the bedrooms, to the living areas, everything was well decorated, kept clean, and it felt like home.
I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking to go to Cartagena. Roberto and his staff are the best at what they do, and they will be sure your trip will be a memorable one.

My Husband an I spent beautiful 4 days in February 2017 at the Candil De Los Santos Hotel. We were so pleased and happy with the people at Candil. The Hotel is a charm and peaceful. Their people were extremely helpful and nice. Rooms are so clean and the breakfast was amazing. I had the best Arepa-huevo ever!!!! I am going back with my daughter and dad in September. We are visiting Cartagena to look for wedding venues and this hotel is so convenient to walk to all places in the old city that we have in mind for the wedding venue. I am looking to book this entire hotel for some of the wedding visitors in 2018.

My friends and are stayed at Candil de los Santos for 8 nights in March, during our Spring Break vacation. We were a group of 12, but fit very comfortably in the house and had excellent service from Dario and his crew. We were able to have large dinners and people over during the evenings. During the day, we spend most of our time in the beautiful pool! The location is also phenomenal -- walking distance to everywhere in the historic district. I can't wait to go back again...

We'd definitely return to this charming courtyard style, 2 level, 6 room place. It's strongest points were:
- Location was 2 doors down from the lively Plaza San Diego with a range of restaurants. Because the taxis didn't know the hotel we just got in the habit of giving the Plaza name. You will only find the hotel name set in the entrance wall tiles, so you need to watch for it. Even with it so close we didn't hear night noise and we go to bed early.
- Close to the bulk of the photo op bougainvillea draped balconies and 2 blocks from the wall for an evening stroll.
- The pool surrounded by lush greenery made for a refreshing respite after exploring hot and humid Cartagena. Because of the courtyard's position there seemed to be a constant breeze so that even on a hot day it was much cooler than out on the street.
- Wifi was decent in our rooms in addition to the common areas.
- A/C worked perfectly.
- Filtered water on site for water bottle refills.
- Breakfast was so large we requested less food for subsequent days.
- Staff was very friendly with English speaking Roberto offering to help with anything in Cartagena and other places we planned to visit.
Rain-head style shower head with good water pressure.
The only small negative was that the room was dark, but at the same time it had a calming effect.

From the reservation to the end of our trip. Candil De los Santos experience with friends was espectacular. The best is the pool lounging area, were you can mingle with your friends for breakfast, before and after going out. The location is perfect and the service provided by the lovely personnel will make you feel that you are at home. We are already planning our next trip and stay at Candil De los Santos.
