This hotel is very nicely decorated inside and on their terras. The restaurant food is nice and fairly priced. Downside; we were in a room where you had a lot of noise from people passing ( corner room)
A classy hotel in beautiful Cachi

The El Cortejo is a gorgeous little boutique hotel with very classy decor and lovely artwork. It is tranquil and traditional and a short walk to the main village square. Cachi is a pretty little village with traditional Andean style architecture. Whichever way you approach Cachi the drive is not easy but we came from Salta and up the Cuesta del Obispo and through Los Cardones National park. Beautful scenery. Would recommend.

We got to stay in this beautiful hotel for a night. We wish we could stay longer there 😊 As soon as we walked in, the hotel manager warmly welcomed us and the check-in was easy breezy. Our room was located on the 2nd floor. The room had a small balcony with two chairs with a fantastic view of the mountain. The hotel is a bit old, but that made the hotel more attractive in my opinion. In the "backyard," there is a place you can relax and hang out with others! It was very modern and it had a great amazing ambience around! I highly recommend this hotel if you have a chance to visit Cachi 😄
It's not a mirage, it's as good as it looks!

We arrive at the El Cortijo hot and flustered after arriving in the town with a puncture. We had driven past the hotel a couple of times as there's a large sign next door saying 'Carolina'. We weren't in good moods when we got there but were instantly blown away by the presentation of the hotel which is pretty gorgeous. There is a real sense of tranquillity and elegance about this hotel which hits you as soon as you arrive.
We had booked a double room through an accommodation booking website and there was a mix up which wasn't the hotels fault. We didn't get the room we thought we had booked and the hotel manager instantly upgraded us without hesitation and we were given a lovely room that had been recently refurbished to a very high standard.
We had a nice glass of wine before going out for dinner but wished we had eaten in the hotel as it smelt great. Breakfast the next day was fairly standard for Argentina but everything was fresh and the Granola was great.
When we were leaving we saw the manager and asked where the nearest garage was so that we could get the car checked over before continuing on the bumpy ruta 40 and as we speak very little Spanish he offered to come with us and translate - customer service gets no better than this! We declined at this point as our hand gesturing and facial expressions had become so fluent we thought we would manage!
We loved our short but sweet stay at El Cortijo and would like to have stayed longer in this little oasis but Cafayate beckoned and we had to hit the road once more.
Many thanks to the staff and management for turning things around for us, we could have had horrible memories of that day but it all worked out lovely in the end.

i've stayed at el cortijo in cachi three times now, but you wouldn't know it from the room they've put me in. it's a lovely hotel, unpretentious with a sense of style that would not look out of place in elle decoration. however don't get exiled to a room called 'pastor 02.'
a hovel of a room next to the noisy reception and over looked by everyone having dinner. the room is hot and muggy but you cant have the window open as its straight onto the restaurant. i've asked to borrow a fan but there isn't one in the entire hotel. shame i will not be coming back here.
