What People are saying

Perfetto

As we approached the hotel looked quaint and typically Sardinian. Once inside the hotel opens out onto different levels spreading all along the rocky spit of land on which it stands.

There is plenty of space to find a nice quiet corner to relax either inside, on one of the sun terraces, or on the rocks beside the sea.

The pools are great for swimming, clean and well-maintained. The crystal clear waters of the turquoise blue sea look very inviting, but I’m not a sea swimmer so didn’t take advantage. There is also an indoor pool, spa and fitness centre.

The restaurant has beautiful daytime views and is stunning in the evening with coloured lights all along the coastline.

The breakfast is great with lots of choice and plentiful. The evening meal was very good, staff polite and professional.

Our room was spacious with traditional country-style furnishings, and the bathroom had good quality fittings, towels and toiletries.

The gardens are beautiful, well kept, very colourful and exotic. Take a walk outside the hotel to the old look-out tower and little lighthouse - the views from there are terrific.

The hotel is ideally situated for a peaceful relaxing holiday. The views over the bay to Capo Caccia are stunning, particularly in the evening when the sun is going down.

Make sure you book a high floor room with balcony and Capo Caccia view.

I can see why this place is a popular venue for weddings, it’s so romantic.

Alghero town is only 5-10 minutes by car, the old town is well worth the visit, lots of lively bars and restaurants, and good beaches a little further along the coast.

Can definitely recommend Hotel El Faro.

Perfection

Great clean and new rooms, stunning views, beautiful premises, superb breakfast. Our stay was a like in heaven.

We stayed here on the last day it was open before the winter stop. Price was very reasonable. This is a great professional tourist hotel.

I think it will be much more expensive in summer. For us this was a piece of perfection after a long day and a long drive. I cannot think of anything that I did not like about this hotel. The breakfast was over-complete.. so much to choose from. Fantastic.

Superb location, hotel has a few issues

Fabulous views over Porto Conte bay towards Capo Caccia, in the heart of the Regional Natural Park with amazing wildlife on the doorstep. We disturbed a group of eight wild boar yards from the gate one night and snorkelled in crystal clear waters off the terrace. Very nice sun loungers and pools. Room seemed sparsely furnished and no kettle or coffee making facilities but great view from the balcony. Uncarpeted floors meant noise on occasions from other rooms. Bars and restaurants seemed expensive.Breakfast was included in our rate but the cooked offering was disappointing despite the wide variety of food on offer. You need a hire car as not much on offer nearby. Canoe hire was available (appeared to be inflatables) but expensive at 10 Euros per hour. Bikes better at 20 Euros per day. No entertainment while we were there (five nights) and few people seemed to use the bars. If they made the prices more reasonable and put on entertainment they would probably do much better. I would go back as the location and area is superb.

Lovely hotel with magnificent views

Booked for a week in September.Really good experience and excellent sevice. As I had a problem with my hip we needed to get a taxi into alghero which was exiting and lively. Plenty of restaurants and bars and very pretty. Food in the hotel was great but the menu was the same throughout the week. We chose to eat or locally which was really good.

Scenic and great lookout, nice swimming in the sea

Cani1811on 07/10/2017 19:22

The hotel is located on a tongue of land thus it is very scenic. It is on an level so you have to walk down to the sea. It is well designed as on that way there are a lot of niches for sunbeds, so there is a sort of privacy possible. The sea is clear and you may swim in a picturesque landscape, but there is no Beach. The room was big and had the basic equipment you need, room and bathroom were clean. Breakfast was offered with a variety of bread and fruits etc. A bit annoying was that there were only two Self-Serving coffee machines which meant queuing.
The hotel has also an indoor pool and a spa, which we didn't use.
I only rate 4 points as we had to pay 20€ per night for a baby bed (baby doesn't eat yet etc.) which I think is a bit of a rip-off.
