Been to Turkey over 40 times, kuşadasi, Marmaris, Gümbet/Bodrum, visited Alanya in October 17, stayed at Elite Orkide hotel, arrived at 12 midnight, was greeted by a very gentle man called Huseyin, who kindly showed us to out room, my mother and I travel often to Turkey, this was out firat time to Alanya. Out room was on 9th floor at the back of hotel, first of all the room was immaculate, but a double bed in the bedroom, as much as I love my mum 😊 we really needed separate beds, I pointed this out to huseyin who kindly ran around the hotel for around half an hour trying to sort out out problem, on final decision we were asked to stay until morning and they would find us another room. Next morning a meeting with the manager granted us a frontal room with ample space, looking the road, we loved it although we had first requested a pool view online I might add.. the Roadside room was fab... love the hustle bustle of everyday life the main road was no problem really, tger e was more noise coming from the taxi rank under us, which kept us amused. This hotel is immaculate! When I say clean and modern I mean it.. and believe me I like modern sparkly homes, I have one! The staff at this hotel are sooo nice, but same goes for Turkish people... they will go out of their way just for you! The pool was beautiful be it a little late in the year for sun drenching hours, the scramble for 5 sunlit beds sent us to the beach everyday, but straight across the road 7 minute enchanting walk and your there.. cleopatra's beach.. omg!!! Stunning! Back to the hotel, the restaurant attached to the hotel is just so nice the restaurant manager saw to out everyday lunchtime requirements, tasty freshly cooked food trundled to your table on a trolley and served in style, my admiration goes out to this hotel and restaurant top class affordable good food. Go to this hotel meet the lovely people at this hotel, we will go again as we loved alanya! It's huge bigger than Marmaris and as classy as kuşadasi, cable car to the castle, Cleopatra beach is one 3rd of alanya, beyond the castle rock is another 2/3rds we didn't even investigate, passed through, as we were invited into the the hills to a real Turkish home, experience was amazing, hilltop at night overlooking the splendour of this resort.... sea Crystal clear blue, Turkish people amazing- Teşekkürler to our friends we met, beach number 2 - Şucra and Ramazan at beach bar.. Our friends for life, looked out for us in the most caring way.. also beach number 7 also lovely, was looked after by this man also, we will be back Jan and Christine, seni seviyorum Alanya 💘

Be careful if travelling in October

Just came back yesterday from Alanya...booked Elite Orkide in July for 9 nights through Travel Republic. [just for info - this was our third visit to Elite Orkide after 2012]. Reached quite late at night on 22/10/2017...we were given an apartment with some electric problem...lights kept going off every now and then. We complained to the receptionist and asked to change the room. Receptionist advised to wait till morning and speak to the manager as he couldn't change the room without manager's permission.
In the morning when I spoke to the manager about the problem...he told me the news that the hotel is shutting for the season on 26/10/2017! I wasn't happy about it...so he apologized and said that my agent should have informed me. Cutting the long story short. We were moved to another hotel, which we didn't like but had to stay there!
So be careful if travelling in the month of October...as Elite Orkide closes for the season in October and then re-opens in March or April following year.
Elite Orkide is a nice hotel but in this visit we felt that hotel management is not maintaining the apartments very well. Aforesaid electric issue was not fixed even after manager promised that it would be fixed...on the third morning we were offered another apartment...where after moving we found bathrooms exhaust was not working...reported on third day but not fixed till we were moved to another hotel on the 4th day. sofa beds need fixing or replacing
On a positive note, hotel is nice and clean...close to the beach and other local amenities...also offer free wifi but only works in the reception area
Lastly Elite Orkide charges extra for Air conditioning and safety locker - for four nights I paid 166 Lira
Time at the hotel

Had the most amazing time the hotel was spotless, the view from the room was amazing we was on the seventh floor so we could see the sea and the main road. The food at the hotel was really nice, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was situated near everything you could possibly need mini supermarket, shops and the beach. Even though the hotel is situated on a main road the noise was bearable we had no trouble sleeping. The pool area was very clean didn’t stay much round the pool we spent most of the holiday down at the beach which is absolutely stunning. Would highly recommend this hotel and will 100% be returning.
Disappointed

Just back from 11 nights here, it is a lovely hotel rooms are spotless, pool area was kept very clean and our 5th floor room had great views. Now for the bad points, when we arrived safety deposit box in room was broken manager could not understand why we would not accept a small locked box that just sat on top of wall mounted safe His manner to say the least was disgusting, telling us he had worked there 8 years and nothing had been stolen. He threw our money back at us and said the safe in our room would be fixed next morning. It took 3 days and a lot of arguing before another one was put in. Also we were self catering and was constantly hassled about eating in restaurant. The noise from the street was terrible and it never quietened down at all day and night add to that the 4 Mosque that surround the hotel dont expect much sleep.
