Although approximately a mile from the centre of Ludlow, Elm Lodge is in pleasant grounds. We would certainly have walked to and from the town but for the weather which was wet and windy when we visited. There are however several local taxi firms to choose from and it is a £4-£5 journey. Our room was upstairs in the Coach House; quite a large room with plenty of beams. The bed was very comfortable and there was also a small sofa in the room. The en-suite had a shower with good water pressure. There were hot drink making facilities and a small fridge containing a jug of fresh milk as well as bottles of chilled spring water.
The breakfasts were great! Although there is a good choice of cold items to choose at breakfast time, there is a good selection of hot dishes to choose in advance including full English, scrambled egg with smoked salmon (both of which I tried during my stay and they were really good!) and haddock with poached egg.
All in all, a very comfortable and convenient stay.
Lovely room, great breakfast and lovely owners...what more can you have

Loved the room over the owners kitchen. Nice area with tea/coffee making facilities. Fresh milk in the fridge!
En suite shower room was also a nice touch.
Lovely breakfast....so much we couldn’t eat it all!
All little distance to town centre so we drove but I guess it would be a 25 minute walk. Would not advise walking back at night as the driveway down to the rooms is not well lit and road surface has pot holes.
Loved the owners and their friendliness.
Hope there plan for the log cabins goes ahead and I am sure they will make it work.

The hotel consists of converted barns ( I think) and is quite a way from the centre of Ludlow. It is in the grounds of a large probably Victorian house. Our room was characterful and we got an excellent night's sleep. A nice touch was fresh milk in the fridge. We had a lovely view over the gardens.
The breakfast was average - porridge very watery and the full English a bit greasy.
Having done quite a lot of walking in the preceding days, we wanted to book a taxi to go to the town for a meal (also meant we could have a drink too!). The manager warned us that local taxis didn't like to operate in the evenings - this was perfectly correct as not one of five was prepared to take us into Ludlow. This is obviously not the hotel's fault and, if you are prepared to walk (at least 1.5 miles to the actual centre) or take the car then I would recommend this hotel.

First floor accommodation in the coach house may not suit everyone. The stairs would be slippery if it rained. The room was large and airy and the bed was comfortable. The ensuite was average (not sure why they used vinyl offcuts for the trim around the toilet?). The office staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was average, some of it was inedible due to the deep frying hash browns!.....Nice location, quiet but you need to drive to the town as it is out of the way.
Fabulous stay and excellent value for money.

Although a little out of town (about 15 minutes walk to the town centre), this B&B adjacent to a small golf course provided lovely accommodation for a short break.
The room was fab; large bathroom and comfortable bed and with a fridge and fresh milk to go with the tea and coffee.
Breakfast was amazing, with a large choice of cooked meals. My partner's dietary intolerance proved no issue at all for the host, who cooked all the food fresh to order.
Staff were friendly and helpful and there was very little to criticise here.
Can thoroughly recommend, and would definitley stay here again.
