We arrived late - in fact a day late due to missing a flight but were still received warmly and found our apartment with some tzasaki, olives and cheese waiting for us for us. A lovely quite spot on the Island - which is really a peninsula. The apartments are simply but tastefully furnished and comfortably. The complex is totally self sufficient on solar power, water and makes a real effort to remain Eco conscious - however, the power is constant and everything works very smoothly.
Simple home made breakfasts and lunches are available (although the apartments do how equipped kitchens) in the cafe overlooking the sea. There is a very nice atmosphere and Leda and her staff provide helpful information about the beaches, the walks, the restaurants etc.. The massage therapist was also excellent - therapeutic massage, not a spa type relaxation one.
I loved the place and would happily go back as it fitted my desire for quite, off the beaten track - however we were there at the end of season so in high season the area probably get very busy and more interesting for those looking for more night life on the mainland.

We spent 7 days at these lovely villas. A small complex on the Elounda peninsula. Lida and Kosta were friendly and helpful at all times and they both speak great English.
They also have an art cafe that operates 9-5 on site.
Walk to various small beaches and spend your time snorkeling, swimming and sunbathing.
Not really necessary to hire a car for a short vacation.

Great location, calming villa for a relaxing holiday. Our villa was simple, spacious and cool. Lida and her family made us feel very welcome. AND...her food is fab. There is really easy access to the sea, and i enjoyed doing some medium distance swimming up the coast.

A beautifully situated and designed set of Villas, each one different from the next but all with breathtaking views over the sea towards Elounda village. Accessed via a causeway, Elounda Island is rugged and tranquil, with spectacular scenery all around,
There were 100 steps from our Villa to the little beach in front of the complex, and another five beaches within easy walking distance; each one different from the other, but all offering their own delights.
This is a family run business where nothing is too much trouble. The Villas are traditional in style, and one can open the windows and hear the sounds of Crete without being closed in because of air-conditioning.
The Taverna serves delicious, snacks, ice creams, and a traditional dish of the day which is always made from fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection.
If you want a truly relaxing holiday, with loads of things to do and see close by The Elounda Island Villas are a perfect place to stay.

Lovely family run hotel, with delightful hosts. Across the bay from the gin palaces beloved of the vulgaratti, lies this haven: no pool, no air con, no noisy bar. A 5min walk to a beautiful rocky beach and plenty of other hidden places to explore and swim off, snorkel round the submerged village foundations 10 mins away, or walk round the headland past the booze cruise drop off and find a desert island sandy beach. we stayed 5 years ago and always wanted to return, so much so, we rented the whole place for our family and friends, cant wait for the next opportunity to visit.
