Excellent Birthday Party Headquarters
Douglas Son 13/11/2017 22:18I chose to celebrate my birthday in Asbury Park this past Saturday and booked a room at the Empress for this purpose. Overall I was extremely satisfied. The 4th floor corner suite offered beautiful ocean and lake views, provided ample space for my friends to hang out comfortably and included passes to the Paradise nightclub downstairs. Bridge and Doug in particular went out of their way to ensure that we were well taken care of and it was really a special night. The location of the hotel is convenient to both the boardwalk area and the downtown so we were able to start our night at Johnny Macs and then finish our evening on the dancefloor at Paradise. If you are looking to enjoy all Asbury Park has to offer, including (or especially) nightlife, then this is great option.
The only “issue” we had was when we were told afterwards that they’d received several noise complaints from other guests. While my friends and I were up socializing until late we certainly weren’t behaving in an unusually raucous manner. The club downstairs is open until 3am and is a big reason to stay there, so noise will come with the territory. Finding a way to accommodate those who seek the party atmosphere as well as those who need a full eight hours of sleep is clearly a challenge. So if it’s a Friday or Saturday and you are seeking a quiet, early night then perhaps its best to look elsewhere. But if you really want a fun, unique and very Asbury experience then staying at the Empress is a really a great way to enjoy the party.

Clean and very comfortable rooms, friendly staff, beautiful views to the beach and boardwalk including enjoying to see a beautiful sunrise from room.

Laurie Mon 10/11/2017 13:46Very clean, very friendly. Staff and Guest were very welcoming. Massive LGBTQ pool dance party going on all day long. Not a place to go with your kids or stay if you want a quiet getaway. Beach was very very crowed, no place to layout a blanket.

Kathy Don 05/11/2017 22:58My daughter got married in Oct at the Stone Pony and we all booked rooms at the Empress Hotel, let me tell you that the staff there was great!!! The rooms were clean and price was great too!! This was my first time there and I would stay there again!! Its in a great location and walking distance to everything.Everyone that stayed there loved it!!!
