Simply stunning!

I stayed at this property for just one night and left vowing to return! Stunning location, superb rooms overlooking the sea, warm and friendly staff and great food. A magical place that brought back for me memories of my childhood spent in the warm embrace of grandparents. Watch the sunrise, sip tea on the spacious balcony with a monkey or two watching you and watch the waves kiss the shore, indulge in a lazy breakfast by staff who remind you of your mom, lie down in the four poster bed and read or simply lie down close to the sea and watch it in all its magnificence. If this isn't life, what is?
Very nice lunch

We didn't stay in this hotel but only had lunch. When we arrived, there were no other tourists in this hotel. It has 8 rooms. Apparently, a group was going to arrive the next day. It is in an restored house with 3 wings around a pool that was being refurbished. We were told that was why no one was there because the pool was out of order. There is no real beach behind the hotel - there are some steps into the surf which looked dangerous. Maybe if the tide was out, then you would walk along the beach...
We walked around the hotel and ventured into each room while we waited for our food. I think the better rooms are on the second floor because the first floor rooms seemed dark and musty. Each room was different. They had canopy beds and large bathrooms. The shower was the bathroom in one of the rooms which I wouldn't like. The rooms seemed spacious. It could be noisy if people are in the pool.
We ordered the prawns in white curry and it was really good. The chef came out and checked on us. The waiter was very attentive but then again, we were the only ones there.
A pearl of style

We only spent one night in this amazing "romantic" hotel on our way to the south.
The personnel accommodated us in an amazing huge room were we have been treated as kings. Wave beach. not usable with kids but the pool is amazing.
delicious breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Walking distance to restaurants and bars
Wonderful place, pity about lack of sea swimming

We stayed here for five nights. Jessica and her team provided a delightful relaxed attentive and professional service throughout our stay. Nothing has been too much trouble for them. The building gives the impression of a colonial style dwelling, with the better rooms on the first floor, enjoying balcony space and sea views. It is not as old as it looks, being only eight years old, though some refurbishment and decoration to the bedrooms is needed. During our stay, redecoration was being undertaken to the Ground Floor public areas, so maybe the bedrooms are next on the list.
Dining was a delight, with wonderful Sri Lankan dishes presented by the chef, who took pains to meet the guests and advise or suggest dishes to try. Again, nothing was too much trouble.
The pool is excellent, though in full use, may get a bit crowded. This can be made more difficult as the hotel accepts day visitors for lunch. While we were there, eleven Swedish twenty year olds arrived for lunch and took over the pool area. They also drank in the pool using glassware and beer bottles, which is downright dangerous and was not discouraged by the staff. A big mistake in my view.
It's a pity that there is no beach sea access as we love sea swimming - perhaps the biggest disappointment of our whole trip and one that was not pointed out by our Tour Agent until all details had been finalised.
Amazing Boutique Hotel

We stayed for 3 nights here and really cannot fault it.
The Manageress was friendly and welcoming. The staff are highly trained and were accommodating to our every need.
Although the sea directly from the back of the hotel is rocky, only a few minutes walk up the beach is ideal for swimming and lazing around.
The rooms were beautiful and spacious with a fantastic 4 poster bed and huge bathroom.
The food was great, with a lovely seafood platter on our first night.
The only downside was possibly the fact they had no local spirits available and had run out of both chocolate and vanilla milkshakes..maybe more trips to the supplier is in order to keep the guests happy?
Would go back again as only a short and very cheap tuc tuc ride into Galle but far enough away from the hustle and bustle.
