Friendly, charming hotel, good location

Friendly, helpful staff, convenient location a short walk from the town centre. I had assumed on an island 2x4 km that location didn't matter, but it takes a long time to travel from one end of the island to another, so you want a central location. Take the funicular from the harbour (even if you have big suitcases), go through the tunnel at the far end of the town square and keep going - the hotel is a few minutes walk (a taxi can't take you any closer).
The room was fine, and had a balcony with some sea view, though we hadn't booked it with a sea view (there are some rooms with a really great view). There's a great view from the terrace where breakfast is served, and I enjoyed sitting there with a bottle of wine watching the sun go down.
The only thing that could easily be improved is the breakfast - there were only sweet items - croissants with filling, cakes, marmelade, honey - i would have liked some bread and cheese.
Just OK

My wife and I were staying in Capri Town for 2 nights. After arriving by ferry we inquired about a taxi to the hotel. He wanted to charge 25 Euro for a ride to the Piazza (only foot traffic to the hotel). The faniculare was across the street and only cost 4 Euro for both of us to the same Piazza (No extra charge for the luggage.) Once arriving in the piazza we had a bit of an uphill walk along brick walkways and stairs to get to the hotel. Quite exhausted upon arriving. Then there was 2 flights of stairs to get up to the hotel entry.
After checking in, our room was on the 2nd floor with no elevator. The staff was friendly and kind. They offered to bring up our luggage later since they allowed us check check in 4 hours early. I decided to carry the suitcases up myself so we could freshen up before going out.
The room was basic with a bit of patina on the walls. (Some cracks in the plaster). The ceiling light fixtures were being held up by the electrical wire as well. The bathroom was cleaned, but the shower walls and corners seemed to have mold or dirt. I was trying not to look, so I didn’t inspect it. The towels were in poor condition and appeared quite worn and dingy. The beds were very hard and pillows were very flat and worn as well.
The hotel has a terrace that has beautiful views of the sea. The morning breakfast was in the bar connected to the terrace. (The bar was not open except for breakfast). Basic breads and brioches for breakfast. The espresso didn’t taste as good as others we have been drinking for the past 2 weeks though. However, breakfast was included with the cost.
There was always staff present to answer any questions and they were always friendly.
If you are looking for a place to sleep and shower, this is a good hotel. If looking for ambiance, maybe choose another at a much higher price point.
Very good value for money

Rooms were very spacious, and also the terrace was very big and had awesome view to marina piccolo. The staff is very friendly and helpful and hhotel was clean. Breakfast is very basic. Great value for money.
The walk from centrum not too long but it is uphill, so older people may need to consider transportation or different hotel.
Charming old fashioned family style hotel

We stayed two nights here. It's an old building with stairs, family run hotel. Nice staff. The place is a bit run down but it has a charm to it, and the views are fantastic. It's worth getting a room with a balcony because the balcony is huge with a table and chairs and two sunloungers to relax on. The breakfast includes really good coffee made to order for you and lots and lots of cakes and sweets. No healthy options, that was one thing i think they should try to offer as not everyone can have a breakfast with that much sugar.
Great Location, lovely views

Esperia was a great location in the heart of Capri. knowing the cost of hotels on the island this one was a steal and we would definitely visit again. Continental br5eakfast including pastries and drinks. The best hot chocolate my daughter had in all of Italy. The view from the dining room is to die for!
