Decent service, a few faults

Polite staff and great location. Worn-down hotel rooms that need renovation. Our first room was very small, but we were offered a bigger one from night two. Only the first room had internet access that worked.
The staff appeared service minded, but not everyone spoke good English.
Good value and location

The hotel is situated on the beach and right at the heart of the town of Alassio. This makes it ideal for lunch and evening strolls through the narrow village alleyways with their boutique shops and fresh food smells.
Staff at the hotel were very pleasant and helped us upgrade our room to a larger size during our stay.
The rooms are small but this is Europe and I don't expect much more. Facilities were relatively basic - clean but basic. The room decor is in need of a makeover but this didn't bother me too much - I was here on a business trip so maximum comfort wasn't a priority. One major downside was the bathrooms and in particular the towels. The towels are very thin - they seem more like dish clothes to me. Fortunately, I travelled with two large beach towels so was ok.
Some rooms have a balcony - I recommend you ask for one of these rooms or certainly ask for the biggest room they have available, as you will need the extra space.
Breakfast was typical for an Italian hotel, lots of bread and pastries. Again, I was prepared with some of my own cereal - I suspect most people would get bored of the breakfast after day 2.
With that said, I found the price and location of the hotel to be it's strong point. If you are here for holiday and want maximum comfort, this is probably not the hotel for you. But if you are on a budget and come prepared, this will do just fine.
One other point to note - to use the hotels beach area will cost you around €18 euro a day. Quite steep even for a couple never mind a larger family. There are free public areas of the beach but with no facilities so you are forced to use hotel areas. I don't think the concordia are any different from the other hotels in terms of their beach access price.
Very disappointing

Booked this 4 star hotel online and when we arrived found that it was not the standard we expected. The staff did not smile or engage with us in a positive manner. Our room was at a noisy corner and they had no other rooms available. The hotel was clean but the decor throughout was old fashioned and tired to say the least with old carpets on the floor in bedrooms.there was piped music on the corridors which was weird! Part of the ceiling in the bathroom was peeling and had water marks. The walls could have done with new paint and the doors and skirting was chipped. We could not get hot water from the tap or shower and when we informed staff they told us to run the taps for a while- even at that it was just tepid. Also the taps were dripping all the time which was very irritating. We felt we were allocated rooms that were not always used as one of our group had a single room. The breakfast was below average for what a 4 star should be. I travel extensively and do not put up with sub standard accomodation .Hence we moved after 2 nights and stayed in a fabulous serviced 2 bedroomed appartment near the beach, which I reviewed also. Overall this hotel is stuck in the 70's and needs a major refurbishment as the location is very good

We could not have asked for more. Ideal location.Staff very attentive especially the head waiter who was a real character and made mealtimes a pleasure. we used the hotel as a base to explore specific places in the resort.
Great location, reasonable price.

We got a room with seaview. Great location in the heart of Alassio. Thats the best things. The food is not so good. But the price for the hotel is reasonable. The wifi is free but only works at the groundfloor, not in our room at third floor.
