We visited Evolve Back (Orange County) earlier this month and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We stayed in a Lily Pool Cottage (Room No 304) and Miss Neetu, the executive who was in-charge of our stay made sure that all the things were perfect.
Since we had so much fun during our stay the place, I will list down some of the things were enjoyed the most:
1) Dressing in Coorgi style: Check with Deeksha for the costumes
2) Go on the Worker's trail: We visited the adjoining coffee & pepper plantation with Vinod who was extremely friendly and explained us the whole process of coffee farming. One of the highlights of this trip, apart from Vinod's knowledge is meeting Fatima madam, the 55 year old supervisor of the plantation.
3) Go birding: We went for a birding visit that started early in the morning at 7:00 AM. With Amjith, we spotted a wide variety of birds including the Malabar Hornbill, Plum Headed Parakeet, Drongos, Flowerpeckers, Sunbirds etc
4) Jungle Walk: We went on a jungle walk with Gopal who helped us spot a variety of trees endemic to the Western Ghats.
5) Eat delicious food at the Granary served by Chef Chandy; Vijeth, Ebrahim, Akshay and others will bowl you over with their hospitality.
6) Relax in your room: With a private pool and beds decorated by the house keeping staff (Anil and Anthony) with fresh flowers, it is difficult to get out of your rooms.
7) Listen to Coorg stories from Murthy
8) Read a book (preferably: The Vanishing Kodavas) at the library while sipping coffee brewed by Vinod
9) See the entertainment programs
10) Have a six course candle light dinner at the Pepper Corn where Bragadeesh, Sahil, Devi Prasad etc will make sure that you are fed well.
A wonderful place to visit!

A warm welcme from the charming staff who cannot do enought to help adds to the perfect ambience of Evolve BAck Coorg. A fascinating plantation tour was the only additional option we had time for on this occasion - we wished we could have stayed longer!
Amazing Experience

Namaskara !! ( as they say when u are at Evolve Back )
Visited Orange County in Oct 2017 & it was an amazing experience in nature's lap away from the cacophony of a city. We stayed at the Lily Pool Cottage & if u want to experience out-of-the-world hospitality do visit this place. Staff is very courteous & helpful. Our host Guyana made sure that all things were perfect during our stay. We also opted for tree-top dining & it was one of the most amazing experiences we ever had, special thanks to GM - Kanthi Aneesh for recommending it. Do keep atleast 2 days in your itinerary to experience all the nature activities at resort. Mobile Network at the resort is not that good but believe me you will not complain about it :P
Tranquility! A foodie's paradise!

We were a bit hesitating to stay at Evolve back, as it was turning expensive. But, on reaching the place, we realised its definitely worth the bucks!
It all started with the refreshing welcome drink - Coconut milk with coffee candy.
Stay:
The resort is situated in a 300 acre coffee plantation. We stayed in Lily Pool cottage with a private pool overlooking the paddy field within the estate. I loved the recliner placed near the pool. The cottage was very cozy and clean. No signs of plastic anywhere. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the infinity pool.
Food:
Tried all three restaurants -
1. Granary - multicuisine buffet - Had dinner and high tea. Excellent spread! All the cuisines (Coorgi, Tamil, Kerala, Italian, North Indian) had the authentic taste. Had aromatic coffee and lot of hot snacks like samosa, suzhiyan, fresh tapioca chips, etc.
2. Peppercorn - 5 course meal - Had lunch. Prawn Biriyani and Starters were delicious! 3. Plantain leaf - Veg only - Had buffet breakfast. So yummy! Consisted mostly of south indian dishes - idiyappam, idly, puttu, upma, different varieties of dosas.
Though the taste was unique in each of these restaurants, food was so fresh and yummy. Never had such juicy tomatoes and crispy onions anywhere else.
Staff:
The Staff was so polite and extremely attentive. The housekeeping staff surprised us with a nice simple floral decoration on the bed and bathtub! We were even given a packed picnic lunch of sandwiches, juices & fruits for our return drive.
It was such a bad decision to stay just for a night. We covered just half of the resort and didn't have time to participate in their guided activities. Need atleast 3 days to fully enjoy the stay. We'll definitely go back again for a longer stay!
