With having been a long term family here, I hope this is given merit.

Tyler, General Manager, and Mike, Assistant GM have not been here long. I have to say they are the best managers we dealt with there. They are honestly trying to make this property better. There have been some changes since they took over but people need to realize that it is slow process. At least they are wanting things better.

The District manager, Carlos, I have to say does not in our opinion care about what you experience. He will listen, then nothing happens.

Karrisa works evenings at the front desk. She has always been friendly, professional and helpful. I have seen her get cussed at, and she maintains her calm and gets her job done. She needs to be recognized as a valued member of the team there.

Evette, works front desk mainly during the day. She is good at front desk. I do not agree with how she treats her PEERS. She use to tell everyone she was manager and she acts like it most of the time. But she's only front desk. She is a friendly person, we just don't like things we have seen and experienced with her on a professional level.

I also have to mention April. Although she isn't there anymore, she was awesome and it's a shame one person was able to drive her out. They really need to get her back behind that desk.

We never got housekeeping during our stay. (Our choice) The house keepers are friendly and do an awesome job. Gigi, Marcel and Octavis, you guys are Great! Thank you for always being friendly. You also made being there a bit better because we got to meet you and kid around with you everyday.

Marcia works overnights. She is a great lady as well. The only complaint we would have is there is only one person working the desk overnight so for safety reasons, you never see her because she stays in back. Too many things happen especially over the weekends for 1 person to be there. So this is more corporate then against her.

Residents need to be heard. The long term people see and hear so much during their stay. They DO know what they are talking about. The majority just want a quiet, safe place to live.

Thank you guys for making our stay there a little better. Relocating was hard enough with leaving family, but overall our stay there (over a year) was positive.

If corporate would like to speak with me more, please contact me.

Started out well, went downhill

For the past 10 years, whenever I'm in MN, I've always made it a point to stay at ESA. It's been a couple of years since my last visit so when I arrived I was excited as usual. I booked my stay through Priceline.
IF YOU BOOK YOUR STAY THROUGH A THIRD PARTY WEBSITE, BE PREPARED TO PAY A DEPOSIT.
Marriel was very pleasant, got me checked in very quickly.
When I arrived in my room with double beds, everything was okay...except the stove top. There was caked on rice around the burners. Okay, no worries, I thought. I just cleaned it properly myself. Throughout my 4 day stay, excellent customer service delivered by Ken and Marriel. I decided I would extend my stay. For some reason, although Priceline had a button to click to extend my stay, it would not let me. Again, "No worries", I thought and booked a new reservation for a few extra nights.
I went downstairs the following morning to inform them that I had rebooked. To my delight, I saw Yvette (she used to be in housekeeping and was always pleasant, though always complaining about Tammy, who worked the front desk at the time). She has apparently been promoted, which I was happy to see until I began talking about the new reservation. First, she told me that ESA does not offer an option to extend your stay through Priceline.
Priceline's response will be that they do not guarantee that you can extend your stay. I understand that, however, if the hotel does not offer this option, Priceline should not have a link to push. This is why:
Every time you make a new reservation, ESA wants another deposit, even though they are holding the previous one.
Also, because I was a Priceline customer, I was told I had to move rooms. Per Yvette, ESA does not offer double beds to Priceline customers or allow you to pay for an upgrade. Yvette said that I must have gotten the last room available. Needless to say, this was more than irritating to have to switch rooms with a 1 year....alone. To make matters worse at 10:20 am, Yvette said to me, "I need that room." That may have been so, but I had until 11am to check out of that room..Seeing I was already moving my things, I thought that was quite rude.
Later, that day, I needed kitchen utensils. There was one pot, one fork, and one spoon left. Disappointing.
Several, days later....the night before check out, an employee and a woman in plain clothes checked me out of my room for some reason. Why they came to my room, and opened my door is a mystery. Later that morning, Marriel also came to the room and opened the door. She apologized and said I was marked checked out. I thought this was really unsafe because I left and reentered the room several times after I was supposedly checked out. Why did my key card still work?
The morning I was leaving, everything was packed from the day before. Everything except my money, ID, and credit card.
I explained to Marriel what happened and she agreed that was strange that I was marked as checked out. She said they would check security cameras and call me back. I did not get a call back. I called ESA back and spoke with the manager, who was quick to try and discount my story.
I asked about the two workers that night and that one was dressed in plain clothes. He said she was in training. He then stated that the "only" thing the night worker did was check me out of my room.
These are security issues to me.
#1 In training or not, there should be something to identify who works there.
#2 Checking me out of my room, did not prevent me from entering my room. Therefore, it did not prevent anyone else from entering. Upon speaking with other people staying there, being able to walk into another room with your key card is quite common. If this worker was in training, the trainer is clearly training her incorrectly.

If you are a frequent traveler, you already know that if you lose money, most likely it's a done deal. I was not looking for the manager to refund my money. A simple, we apologize for that inconvenience, would have been suffice. He at no time offered an apology or assurance that they would do what they could to ensure that people are not checked out incorrectly in the future.
His comments combined with Yvette's comments about how being a Priceline customer meant you get nothing but a basic room only assured me that I would not be staying there again.
I can understand all the rules. It's the customer service attitude of these two that totally ruined my stay.

My wife, daughter and myself have stayed here on numerous occasions and have always had a great experience. The rooms are clean, well maintained and perfect for a longer stay. The front desk staff is amazing, and will work with you, especially Evette. We seem to see her every time we visit and she always has a huge smile on her face. She is helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable if you have questions. Great experience.

Only good things to say

The title says it all. I only have good things to say. The staff is wonderful, kind, and more than accommodating. The hotel itself is spacious and well kept. My favorite staff members are Evette, Bob, and Ken. They were the sweetest people I've ever met and were always patient and willing to help. They went above and beyond and always had a smile on there face.
