Worst Hotel Experience I've Ever Had

Upon arrival, the customer service was unimpressive. Our stay here was for two nights to attend a wedding. I did not expect much, besides cleanliness. I have never stayed in a filthier hotel than the Extended Stay in Carnegie, PA. I'm nearly embarrassed to tell anyone that I have stayed here. You should know, it is RARE for me to make a complaint or to write a negative review of any experience I have had. The reason I chose to write this review was so that maybe hotel management and/or the corporate office takes another look and considers making some positive changes.
Here is my impression of the "cleanliness" of this hotel:
1. The hallways smell of cigarettes and have a very foul odor.
2. Our telephone in the room has layers of grime on it, and clearly has not been cleaned in some time.
3. Our bathroom sink has bloody snot stuck in it. I noticed as I was brushing my teeth and it nearly made me vomit.
4. The shower leaks out all over the bathroom floor. I had to use one of the two tiny towels we were given to clean the water off of the floor. When my husband went to get more towels from the front desk, he was told that we would need to bring the sopping wet towels down to exchange them. They made an exception this time... How nice.
5. When exiting the building, you can find several employees sitting outside the front door smoking cigarettes. How professional.
6. When we went to get coffee in the morning, my husband got less than half a cup before the machine ran dry. He looked over to the lady at the front desk who saw what was happening... And she made no effort to help or get fresh coffee.
The overall feel of this entire building is just dirty. The service is unprofessional. I hope for the sake of this hotel chain, that someone reads this and makes positive changes. I plan to stay in this area again in the future, but it will not be at the Extended Stay in Carnegie.
Overrated

Hotel is a 1 star.
As one example, the advertised breakfast is misleading, untrue, and BS. Limited (one).muffins, granola bars, and coffee is not breakfast.
Additionally, compare similar rated Pittsburgh hotels, such as Hampton, Fairfield, and Comfort Inns with unlimited breakfast options and hot food..
Additionally, in comparison to other close by 2.5 and facilities, this hotel (i.e. Extended Stay) is grossly over rated.
Motel Six is a better comparison star wise.
Room, beds, and location are also examples of a subpar experience.

This is probably the worst hotel in this area. The lower rates than other Extended Stays in this area do not justify the overall rate you pay for this garbage. The front desk is worst. If you have a extended perks or any other discount they deliberately give you the worst rooms. The cleaning staff is horrible. My room and toilet bowl was dirty as if not cleaned for months. A homeless person might be staying there on monthly basis for months. My skin was itching all the night and I could not sleep on the first night there, I had to start my contract job the next day and I could not sleep. I was sleeping at work and looked tired to my boss there. Shame on extended stay. $100/- per night is not worth for this dirty hotel. Manager named Aimee Simpson is probably the worst manager. When I complained she was justifying after insisting she apologized. I heard for another room complaint she rewarded 1 night free but for me just apology. Racism there also. Avoid this garbage hotel. They just rob you. The front desk young ladies make good money working anytime in 24 hour office hours out of us with no quality. I doubt some other costly hotels in this area influence or bribe this manager so that people who get discounts and lower rates but do not expect a decent quality might stay here. But paying $100/- per night is absolute stupidity. $50/- per night daily rate or $200/- per weekly rate is ok, so that you can go to a dollar store and bring a toilet brush and clean the toilet bowl and the whole place yourself. People with that type of mentality who want to save money might be good fit for this hotel.
Unclean Rooms

Room reeked of cigarettes. Many unclean surfaces. A real disappointment. You really can't call this a hotel. More like someplace you have to go to when the nice hotels are booked and you are thrown out of your home.
Not a good place.

I took a flyer on this by Priceline and thankfully the hotel did refund my money. Our room was dirty, with dishes and silverware sitting all over the hallway outside our room, the building smelled of smoke, including our non-smoking room. The bed was dorm size and they offered no roll-a-way. The hotel staff called the bed a "single-queen"???? Anyway, I will say the staff was friendly and accommodating to my refund request.
