Don't walk (Run) from this place

After checking in, I went to the room and instantly returned to the desk and requested another room. The first room they assigned me smelled like motor oil (no joke). The smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling and had some powder like substance on the carpet (which could have been easily removed by simply vacuuming the carpet). After complaining, the Front desk then assigned me another room that was only slightly cleaner. No smell of oil and nothing on the carper, but cotton balls ( i assume used) in the corner of the bathroom floor. Went to iron my clothes the next day and discovered the ironing board was broken and the iron was cracked and leaking water. I could go on but why. All you need to do is to spot check this place and you can see that it has some serious issues in regards to maintenance and management.
Disgusting

Room was filthy. "spots" on the sheet, pubic hair all over the bed, stuff on floors, salt on table. When asked, housekeeping was unavailable. I tried to find another hotel nearby, but all was booked, so I ended up getting clean linens from front desk and changed the bed myself.
So bad I checked out 28 days early.

I cant even begin to tell you how bad my experience was.
I stay in hotels 6 months a year....stopped going to ESA a few years ago...about 2 weeks ago had friend reserve a room in Chicago, liked it enough to try ESA again.
THIS HOTEL IS EXTENDED STAY...but they don't know what means. Wouldn't let me book more than 6 days....My 36 day stay took 45 minutes to book with the hotel directly because I needed 6 reservations...each time the room got more and more expensiv even with our 'cooperate preferred discount". ..it became same price as a regular hotel.
Yet regular hotels for that price have pools, etc...Hell, this place doesn't even have a doughnut other coffee.
My room had no chair....had to call after realizing and was ready to sit down and eat.
Took 30 minutes and by that time I decided not to cook there anymore.
2 out 4 Washington machines were broken. 3 out 6 driers were broken.
That alone should tell you this hotel does not put money back into anything...they charge too much for zero amenities...and completely pocket the cost savings while the hotel falls apart.
Elevator was broken one day.
The lack of amenities is supposed to be for the fact it is an EXTENDED stay kind of place..
But they wouldn't take my reservation.
I finally checked out after 6 days and first of 5 reservations cancelled . While checking out the woman at the counter tells me they could have booked me for the weekly rate of which they could have done at the beginning while they wasted my time making 6 reservstions...now I see it's because they didn't want me to have the weekly rate..they just screwed me on price.
That was my last stay in any extended stays.
I'll send an email to our "corporate preferred buyer and tell them they should stop referring the other 400nemployess that are hotels all the time to start posing this crappie chain of hotels out.
Great hotel

My family and I were on our first family vacation to California, San Francisco area. This hotel was in a great location easy to find with multiple amenities nearby. Plus we were able to cook meals, store snacks and drinks, it was easy to make it a home away from home. The staff was great, and they made check in and check out painless.
Underwhelmed

This hotel has zero amenities; No breakfast, no pool, no workout center, no business center, no lounge area. I could not get the WiFi to connect. The finishes are dated and worn. Non-Smoking room smelled like a smoking room. If you want utensils for the kitchenette it is extra. All this and it is as expensive as other hotels in the area. I'm not staying here again.
