Beautiful hotel, very nice staff

This hotel is very nice and in a great location just minutes off the interstate. The hotel staff at night and in the morning were overly nice and genuine. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The room was very clean and up to date. Breakfast was top notch. Definitely would stay here again.

First stay in years

I'm a long time traveler to the area that has stayed at the HGI south on 57 pretty much since it opened. That hotel is getting a tad bit long in the tooth but has also seen an escalation of rates recently that make it hard to justify. A work mate stayed at the Fairfield a month ago and told me it had been remodeled so I was keen to try it out for the first time probably in 10 years.

I stayed 2 nights last week. Check in was fast and easy and the person there (I failed to get her name) was extremely welcoming and pleasant. I had a first floor room which is what I have on my profile.

The lobby has been redone. It's tight, something you can't really fix but the amenities are nice. Breakfast was basic and met my needs.

The rooms also appear to have been updated. Maybe not completely but the bed was comfortable (not too soft like some Marriott hotels), the TV was large and the hvac was relatively quiet. This hotel is a stone's throw from I57 but in 2 nights, I didn't hear any outside noise at all. I did hear noise from above. It wasn't bad enough to call the front desk and may have been just normal walking but it was a little loud. You can also hear the hallway pretty well, including people that are milling around very early in the morning. I chose a bottom floor room and I'm sure that problem does not exist on other floors.

The room was clean, there was good water pressure and the towels were fluffy.

With all that said, the stay was just fine and I'll have no issues staying again.

Honestly, in most places this would be just an average hotel. Average is not bad. I'd stay at a lot of average places that I knew were clean and a good value. But, for the area, I definitely think a rating of very good is appropriate.

This hotel is very nice. It is very clean and the rooms are comfortable. I have been there two times in the last month and I love it's central location and the staff. There is one employee at this hotel that stands out and that is the front desk employee on the afternoon shift, Charlotte Bell. My job is 100% travel so I am at different place each week and I have observed that customer service in this country is lacking. Charlotte is the exception to that. She always has a smile on her face and she greets everyone walking through the door with the same enthusiasm. I look forward to coming to the area and will always choose this hotel.

Good Value and very clean

I, once again, stayed at the Fairfield inn in Bourbonnais. Things have changed now. It is still a very clean hotel with excellent staff and a very good value for the money. However, there is no whirlpool now, and the "steps" getting into the pool is just a pool ladder. I know many hotels removed the whirlpool due to maintenance issues and the cost of adding the accessible device. Unfortunately, they didn't consider the people who are only challenged with mobility and don't need to use the accessible device. During the remodel and whirlpool removal, I wish they had added steps to enter the pool.
That being said, we loved the adult only time in the pool and will stay again when my sister is finished with cancer treatments and can use a pool ladder again.

clean & quiet rooms

Requested 2 rooms close together away from elevators and pool. Staff was very helpful. Hotel is located near other hotels and shopping. Rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. Breakfast was adequate. Starbucks within walking distance.
