Good visit, loud toilet

We stayed here for its convenience to Stonehenge, Avebury and Salisbury. The room was comfortable and clean. While the room overlooked the street, we couldn't even hear the traffic. The owners and staff were friendly and answered our questions knowledgeably. Breakfast was good--we really liked the coffee.
One problem was the obnoxious roar the toilet made when flushed, as well as a few random times. It made midnight toilet runs an event for the sleeper, as well as the "goer". Whether others in the building could hear it, i don't know.
Fairlawn House Hotel

I was very pleased to stay at the Fairlawn House Hotel. I used to live in Amesbury and this is the first time I have visited past the front door.
I can recommend to others who would be surprised as I was.
The breakfast was one of the best I remember..

The Fairlawn House is a pleasant B&B in Amesbury. The house is Grade 2 listed with plenty of character.
The rooms are pretty good and comfortable although the room we had needed a little maintenance. Our room was overlooked the road but was relatively quiet and we both slept well. There was plenty of space.
Unfortunately the bathroom had not been cleaned particularly well but to their credit the bill was dramatically reduced and they seemed genuinely upset by the issue.
The breakfast was probably one of the best I have had in a hotel/B&B with the black pudding stunning. Service was great and nothing was too much trouble.
There is no evening dining or formal bar although an honesty bar is available. We did not use this facility as we ate out in town and by the time we returned the bar was shut.
Parking is limited at the front of the B&B but there is an arrangement to use public parking close by.
It was only a fleeting visit and despite the bathroom issue I would stay there again.
Fantastic

Beautiful place to stay. From the moment i walked in to the time i left the owners were brilliant, coundnt do enough for you and nothing was a problem. Room was very clean and comfortable. Shower very nice and powerful. A great nights sleep and woke to a fantastic fried breakfast that was in with the price of the room. Thank you . I will definitely be back...
BRITS JOB TOUR - FAIRLAWN HOUSE

I am the owner of The Brits Job Tour NZ - these are self drive tours of the UK in modern Minis. Our groups are usually between 10 and 24 mostly 60+ travellers. Our holidays are between 4 & 7 weeks long.
This year we had two groups stay with The Fairlawn House Hotel - a renovated/restored Georgian house.
This hotel is very nicely positioned if you are visiting Stonehenge or Salisbury.
The rooms are clean and have been modernized to a good standard, however there is no lift, so it's stairs up to your room. The rooms have good shower/bathroom facilities.
Parking can be an issue as it is on the one-way street outside the hotel and may be full, if so they do have an arrangement with another car park just up the road.
The best part of staying here are the individually cooked breakfasts - they are truly superb, 5 stars! There's no evening food, but a very nice J D Weatherspoon - The Bell - 2 minutes around the corner!
Service from hotel staff is usually good and helpful with a smile.
If you are looking for a nice spot in Wiltshire, we recommend giving Fairlawn House a go in Amesbury.
