My husband and I stayed for three nights in this small hotel. The room on the ground level was lovely. Comfy bed, good hot water, kettle in room, and the breakfast was yummy and plentiful.
The location was very convenient for a visit to Dali Ancient town. Our taxi driver took us to the front door, as you need to park a little way away on the main road.. Even though the hotel is on the most busy tourist strip of the told town, it is still very quiet inside the traditional house. The garden in the courtyard was a great place to hang out and read a book.
There's a little bit of problem with lack of english speaking staff, but the women at the desk were still helpful. I recommend using a translation site online throughout China using accomodation wifi. When we needed to order an early morning taxi at 5.30 am for example (before the gates of the accomodation were even opened), I did this without problem using the translation app. The staff got up to open the gates for us, and the taxi arrived promptly for a reasonable price as we had arranged the day before.
Beautiful hotel in a good location

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on a recent trip to Dali. The rooms were nice, the location was great, and they had a nice breakfast in the morning. Our favorite part was the beautiful courtyard. Everyone that worked there was very hospitable. It's not luxury accommodations, but we found our stay to be just what we needed.

Situated in central Dali, this quiet old wooden house is beautiful! The room is sufficient and the place is charming. Several small Restaurants and Shops are nearby. I enjoyed the courtyard. The breakfast room was quite cold and the coffee Needs improvement.
Wonderful hotel

We stayed here during a motorbike tour with Tibetmoto. Lovely hotel centrally located in the old town. Wonderful courtyard and decoration. The buffet breakfast was a mix of Chinese and western. Highly recommended!
Very very nice place

Staying in Dali a hotel like this one is a must. A very charming place, centrally located in an old building. Its feeling chinese - not like one of the boring standard hotels which can be everywhere in the world.
Hidden in a small street (downside: Cars cannot go there so you have to carry your luggage from the parking) its the perfect place to explore Dali. But be careful: I came there in Feb - and it was VERY cold, around 0° at night. Even a heating blanket might (and was)be nice for the night - once you go up for a shower, standing on a stone (freezing) floor - you have to be strong. The rooms are not soundproof at all - had to "listen" the shouting conversation of a chinese family in one of the other rooms for half of the night.
Breakfast I had outside - so cannot comment on that.
