What People are saying

Please don't book here!

blh7694 on 15/05/2017 04:59

I should have read the reviews before we booked. My card was charged 6 months prior to our arrival and we are still (6 weeks later) in the process of obtaining a refund from booking.com - not even the property itself. The owners never answer their phones or emails. Totally rude and disrespectful. Would not recommend

An odd place - still not sure about the experience!

I was in a hurry when I booked this property through Booking.com and I don’t know why I didn’t look at the Trip Advisor reviews beforehand as I would normally do. When I did look I was rather shocked at what I read but as I had booked ‘non refundable’ I couldn’t cancel – but at least I was forewarned about what to expect.
The property is located a bit out of town in a residential area and you would require a car as it is a bit of a walk into town (a long uphill on the way back). It has obviously been a house that has been split into ‘apartment’ style accommodation.
As mentioned in other reviews, it was an odd check-in procedure - there was just a sign on the front door with a cell phone number to call. A man came to the door and told us how to get to the room. No effort made to show us to the room that would have been a nice touch. We had to walk around the side of the house through rather long wet grass to get to our room entrance - there was no path or even stepping stones. Hot water in the bathroom hand basin had been connected to the cold water (and vice versa). Took me a while to figure out - just thought that there was no hot water. The hand towel in the bathroom was very frayed at the edges. A light in the 'kitchenette' cupboard would have been useful and the lighting in the lounge and bathroom was poor. When we got back to the room after going out for dinner that evening, it was pitch black walking around to our room, there was no outside lighting, not even a cheap solar light. Heat pumps in bedroom and lounge were programmed to turn off at midnight and then back on again at 6:00am - a sticker had been put over the program button and screen so that we didn't notice this. There was only a thin duvet on the bed so froze during the night, additional blankets are definitely required. There was a faux fur throw at the bottom of the bed but this caused me to have sneezing fit when I pulled it up in an effort to keep warm. The bed was comfortable enough but it was the squeakiest bed I have ever slept in – you wouldn’t want to be a honeymooner! At 5:30am we were woken up with someone upstairs using the shower. The shower must have been right above our bed as we could hear the water hitting the shower tray not just the sound of water running.
On a positive note it was a big bedroom with a comfortable separate lounge room. The shower had good water pressure.
The man had said the he had upgraded us but now looking at the online photos I don’t know if that was actually true.
It wasn’t a totally dreadful experience and for the ‘deal of the week’ that the room was advertised as, I thought value for money it was OK. If I did stay there again I would make sure I had a torch and a couple of extra blankets with me!

Nice from far, far from nice! Never again!

My husband and I booked here for our anniversary. We arrived, there is no reception so you walk up to the front door where there is a key box, there's a key in there so you would think it's for the door right by. While I was trying to get it to open a guy randomly appears around the corner with a clipboard and tells us that it's the wrong door. Might be a good idea to put that on the key...? He promises to text through the wifi code and then disappears. We let ourselves in through the correct door. Place looks nice enough. Husband stubs his toe on the kitchen tiles because they are raised above the carpet. Go to the bathroom, try to shut the door, it won't shut, try harder, nope still won't move, give up. Try to get out, can't. Call to my husband to push the door open for me. Go to have a shower, good water pressure but the provided shampoo etc is just embarrassing (see photos). After waiting several hour I text the contact number for the wifi code because it still hasn't come through. Go to bed that night, both of us hardly can sleep the bed is that hard and noisy. We both considered sleeping on the couches. A quick scan and the place appears clean enough, but in all the window sills and along the walls are grubby (see photos). Certainly will not be returning and would advise anyone else looking at this property to look elsewhere. While the location is pretty good the accommodation itself is not. It has parking space which is nice but we would rather have had a more comfortable bed. Towels are fraying at the edges and becoming quite tatty. This place could be quite nice with some TLC, maintenance and thorough cleaning. But seriously, find somewhere else to stay.

A total con as stated by others

Do not book! My partner placed a booking without checking Tripadvisor, when we saw that the photos on Booking.com were fake and that this was just a house we immediately canceled the booking (2 weeks prior to the booking time and well within the cancellation period).

They took the money from my account at the time of the booking opposed to at the time of stay that is stated on Booking.com.

We have called > 6 times to try and get a refund, they never pick up the phone. They have replied to one email saying that we have checked in... our booking is not until tomorrow and we live 4 hours drive from the location, it is not possible that we could have checked in.

Please if you have been screwed around by these con artists email Booking.com and ask them to delist them so others do not fall into the same trap.

DODGY - WARNING This guy stole our money too!!!

spinningdreams8 on 31/01/2017 05:44

Don't give this guy your credit card- whatever you do- we booked a night, stayed and then found out later he had put extra charges on our credit card, for completely made up reasons.Someone needs to report this guy. Average place, large but impersonal. Not worth your time or money.
