At a fairly remote location in Southern Morocco, but a lovely hotel with swimming pool and good bar and restaurant. A banquet with lamb meshoui (a whole sheep cooked on a spit in a vertical oven) was a highlight. Great trips through the Anti atlas and into the Sahara made from here.

We had a great stay here as a jumping-off point to the desert. The pool was a great place to hang out, the room was comfy with good AC and bed (very clean). To me, the best part was the food. The breakfast was good, but the dinner was great.

The thing we loved the most about this hotel was the relaxed atmosphere. It felt like the calmness of the desert had been transposed to this tranquil outpost in the far south city of Zagora. The hotel is well maintained, with nice rooms and quiet gardens that provide for a shadowy resting place before and after a trip to the desert. There is a swimming pool, a bar serving alcohol and a nice, Moroccan-style restaurant where you can eat traditional food chilling on comfortable sofas. All the people working there are super nice and friendly, even nicer and friendlier that the common Moroccan (and this means they are really really nice!) The entire hotel is ruled by the "just chill" law, which helps the tourist get to a level of relaxation that is usually hard to achieve even when on holidays! In a sense, Hakuna Matata.
The hotel also organized good desert tours. They have their own tents and camping spot in erg chigaga that provide tourists with an intimate yet well organized experience (we were lucky enough to be the only tourists in the camping place!) They even have running water in the bathroom tent, which I was not expecting but I was very happy to find!

La Fibule du Draa in Zagora is like stepping into a fairytale. The hotel is built in the style of a kasbah (not original though). It’s got a nice blue swimming pool surrounded with palm trees. The only downside is that the swimmingpool is situated in the shade most of the day. Especially during wintertime the water ’s freezing (but that didn’t bother us). There is a poole bar where they serve beer. The rooms are spacious enough and the dinner rather good. Once it was rated a four star hotel, though it can’t keep up with that score nowadays. Nevertheless a nice hotel.

I have often eaten at the La Fibule when camping in Zagora, but this year the trip I was on included 2 nights at La Fibule. The hotel is decorated in very traditional style, infant most of the decor, tiling, woodwork and plaster work are original. The hotel has been owned by the same local family for decades. The rooms are nicely presented and have air conditioning with separate ensuite bathroom and toilet. The rooms also have a fridge and television for the guest's use. The hotel restaurant is efficiently run and the food at dinner was excellent. Breakfast was also very good, with fresh pancakes, meats, cheeses, fruits, jams and lots of strong black coffee etc. The hotel has a bar situated in the central court yard with lots of shaded seating areas. There is also a swimming pool, but I did not get a chance to try it out. The hotel also has off road parking and they provide a member of staff to look after your car during the night.
A day or so later we had to return to Zagora as one of the groups cars had developed a problem, several of us stayed once again at the La Fibule.
Great Place.
