The room was nothing special, but I enjoyed my meal in the restaurant. I was surprised by the good selection of wines available per glass and one of the waiters even produced a 20 year old tawny which wasn't on the menu for my cheese desert.
A mobile payment terminal for the restaurant and bar would be useful though (aren't these things more or less standard these days?) as I wasn't asked and had forgotten to pre-authorise my creditcard on check-in.

No swimsuits are allowed in the spa area
There was no mention about this in hotel’s website and I’m sorry, but I didn’t know that it’s completely normal in the Netherlands. We had included the spa in our reservation and when the receptionist told us that you must be naked in the spa area, it was a huge surprise. So, if there’s someone who doesn’t know that already, you’re welcome.
The food in the restaurant was good and so was the room.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were extremely tidy and spacious. Plenty of free parking and well situated. Breakfast was good but a little pricey. I will deffinately be staying here again and highly recommend this hotel.

Mixture of old and refurbished rooms await - not sure €30 a night extra for the refurbished rooms is worth it. Large car park. Service in the bar and restaurant area was poor/slow. 15 minute walk in to the centre of Bergen op Zoom offered a good choice of restaurants. Pool downstairs, although allegedly naked swimming - did not investigste too far!

Persuaded by friends to return to this hotel. Decided to book an upgraded room because we were disappointed last time with our room. Disappointed again this time. The check in was an improvement. The room was larger but the bathroom door was frosted glass with the word bathroom written down the door but the letters were clear. Do not really want to see someone or be seen using the toilet. Also because it is glass it does not seal the room so noise/smell enter the room. If you get up in the night to use the toilet the light shines into the room and your partner is disturbed. Our room was affected by traffic noise so closed the window and switched on the aircon. Not a good idea as I laid in bed with cold air blowing on me with no way of redirecting the draft. So back to open window and traffic noise.
