Think about this a while before staying here. Magic Marker on the bed sheet I was going to sleep in. Front desk was unresponsive. Somebody has some procedural
and cleanliness problems with the staff at this old place.

The Floridian is a tired grand old Lady. The best thing about this “motel” is the pool and surrounding area. That’s very nice!
The rooms, not so much. Tired, sticky, rundown, old, noisy, icky - these are descriptors I would have to use. I had to keep the a/c running at a low temp to drown out the noise from outside but, with only a sheet on the bed, it made for a cool nights sleep.
As I said, she was a grand old lady but her time has past.

This places was not on our list, however, after checking out a couple of locations of those on our list we went back to the drawing board and found The Floridian! A good find, indeed. Great people on the front desk. We had a King room, comfortable & clean. Outlets were few. We were a few steps from a 'walkway' back to the pool area, which is really lovely. There were some 'issues' some of the pool couch/loungers were a little 'sad' and in need of help. But we sat out there for ages enjoying a beer or two! Breakfast was impressive as were the staff working the area - tables were quickly cleaned off and food was replenished quickly by attentive staff who were very friendly. Hot and cold food - real scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns and a vast selection of cold items. This is quite a large property, and could possibly be noisy at times, (there was quite a bit of 'kid' activity at the pool) but we did not have a problem at all. Yes, there are maintenance issues, however, there was never a shortage of staff doing things - cleaning windows, sweeping, etc., Beautiful landscaping. Enjoyed chatting with the staff at check-out. Would recommend, and would definitely stay again. Oh, next door is another motel (didn't look great) next door to that was "Mario's" a Cuban restaurant.

Stayed here after Hurricane Irma because I had no other options. The pool had yellow hazard tape around it. A few hours later their was a police sting conducted in the parking lot.
The front desk team was nice. I brought them dinner. The room was adequate. the only way I would return is if I had nowhere else to go.

This is a very underrated hotel nice pool good customer service. Rooms were great had a fridge and microwave. Close enough to the keys. And right across the street from a plaza. There is also a small bar near by great little patio. And last but not least good price.
