Moved here after rental apartment nightmare. A great 5 star hotel, we checked in for two nights. $129 Euros/night. This was the best idea we’d had since leaving Madrid. It’s a very nice hotel, with very accommodating staff. I would definitely stay at the Eurostar again. See below if you want to know where not to stay!!
Plaza Nueva Centro III Apartments in Granada.
Our Granada experience was absolutely the worst we have ever had renting apartments. This apartment was the third one that we booked using Friendly Rentals for our 5 city, 4 week, vacation in Spain. My wife and I are both retired, senior citizens, traveling on our own. This trip was the first time I had used Friendly Rentals. We had already been to Barcelona, Bilbao, and Madrid. After 2 nights in Granada we were traveling to Seville for another 5 nights. As per normal, upon booking and submitting our deposit for the Granada apartment, I received a conformation email providing the contact info, an email address and a phone number. This apartment was 100 Euros/night, including the cleaning charge. The message stated that I had to go to the Friendly Rental office in Granada to check-in and get the keys. This is the first time I have ever had to go to an office to pick up keys and complete the check-in. We have rented apartments many times in Spain and Italy. Unlike the previous apartments on this trip, I had not heard anything regarding this booking since I originally placed the deposit several weeks prior. So, the day before our arrival I sent an email message to the contact address on the conformation message to let them know when we would arrive in Granada. I got no reply. Upon arriving at the bus station the next day I called the phone number on the conformation message. It was quickly obvious that the woman that answered, I believe it was Carmen, didn’t have any idea I was arriving that day, and asked which apartment I had rented. After which, she says “I’ll only be here until 2:00, then I need to leave for a while”. Well ok, its 1:40 now, I should be able to get there in 20 minutes. But turns out that the office is at least 20 minutes away, and is in a pedestrian only zone, and our taxi driver didn’t know to get there, so he left us several blocks away. After dragging our luggage a few more blocks we finally locate the Friendly Rental office. It’s 2:25, and the office is locked and empty. I waited another 10 or 15 minutes and called again. She says she’ll be back in about in maybe 15 minutes. So about 3:30 she finally shows up. As one might image, we were very unhappy at the entire situation. Having to wait on her to show up, the taxi driver getting lost, having to take two taxis (one to the office, one to the apartment), simply being handed apartment keys and implying - here you are, you it figure out. Realizing we were really ticked off over all this crap, she starts telling me I should have let her know sooner we were coming; somehow she seemed to think all this was our fault. Wait a minute! I thought I was the customer in this deal!! I showed her the email message I’d sent the previous day, to which she says, “never got it, and that’s not my email address”. Well, I say, that’s the address on the conformation message I received. It’s not my fault you failed to know I was coming today. Enough of this crap; take your security deposit and give us the keys so we can leave. So after another 12 Euro taxi ride we reach the apartment, drag our luggage in and start unpacking some of it. My wife decides she wants to take a quick shower before going out again. No hot water. I try the water in the kitchen, it’s not hot either. At best it would reach maybe lukewarm temperature. That was the last straw; we immediately grabbed our bags and left, leaving the keys behind. A couple of blocks away we found a great 5 star hotel (Eurostar). Another odd thing about this Friendly Rental office; A couple of days after getting to Seville, I sent another email message to Friendly Rentals, and to Carmen in the Granada office, asking when I’ll see my 200 Euro security deposit returned. I received it maybe the next day I think, although it was short about 50 cents due to the USD/Euro exchange rate. The is the only apartment I have ever rented that actually ran the security deposit against a card credit. The others simply take the card number in case they need to use it after you leave. Obviously, the Granada Friendly Rental people don’t have a clue how to conduct business.

The Eurostar Gran Via hotel is near the cathedral, markets, tapas bars, and parking is in a garage across the street. We recommend purchasing parking from the hotel and taking public transportation. For a two night stay we saved 20 Euro (30 per visit vs. 50 for two days) for parking. We stopped in front of the hotel on the side street and unloaded the luggage - the desk agent helped us unload and explained how to get to parking. The hotel has an area for morning breakfast, and complimentary fruit and candy in the lobby. The Alhambra is a 10 minute (5.5 Euro) cab ride and the cathedral and markets are within walking distance. The side streets are very narrow and can be a challenge with lots of people walking along the narrow streets. The hotel had Roman ruins under a glass floor in the lobby entrance. There is a market near the parking garage across the street and a great restaurant just in back of the cathedral across the street one block down where we had our best Paella yet in Spain. The hotel has a bar and terrace over looking the city on the top floor (5).
Great Location. Nice Hotel.

We stayed here one night while in Granada. We were greeted with a big smile from Antonio at the front desk. He was extremely nice and helpful. Showed us a map of the city and places to go. Parking is close by and the hotel will discount it, saving you three euros. (22 euros a night). I would stay here again if I return.
Lovely boutique hotel

Hotel is in great location on the grand via. Small , intimate hotel with excellent service levels and guest relations. Unique building- roman ruins on display under glass floor in reception area. Also small fantastic roof terrace with best views in granada city- u look oneway and have great views of cathedral. The other direction gives great views of the alhambra palace. Bedrooms are furnished elegantly and with style. However they are quite small. Well equipped en suite bathroom. Spa facility also at hotel. Very small guest bar towards rear of ground floor.

Fantastic location, helpful reception staff, stylish rooms, comfortable beds, valet parking available, did I mention location ?!!! The restaurant was closed and the rooftop bar was also shut the days we were staying, we were not advised in advance which was a shame, but there are so so many places to eat and drink within minutes from the hotel, It didn't matter too much. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel as the choices were better outside.
