Quiet and about 5 minutes walk to Metro. Good breakfast:eggs on toast, toast and jam and melon if you do not enjoy Chinese food in morning
Bed comfortable, bathroom clean with good shower and staff helpful
Wifi good. There is a desk manager with good English who was very helpful.
Room for improvement

I had a love-hate affair with this hotel after my recent stay.
The bad
Most staffs were helpful and friendly, some were not.
My reservation with Booking.com clearly states that breakfast is included in my stay but it was refuted by the duty manager and was asked to check with Booking.com directly. Really bad customer service from both the hotel and Booking.com
For some reason, for the first few days of my stay, no breakfast were being served so I had to settle it outside at my own expense.
Cigarette smells lingering in lifts and the corridor leading to my room.
Only one English channel, CNN. Definitely not friendly towards English-speaking guests.
Typical Chinese-style breakfast, limited selection with similar menu almost everyday.
Check-out took longer than expected because a large group was checking in on that day. But the process could be improved by deploying each staff to handle different duties appropriately. There were some functions going on at the lobby, thus the situation then was quite chaotic.
The good
I actually like the location of this hotel. Away from the main road so you can be assured of a good night rest. The nearest metro station is just a 5 mins walk away so most tourist spots are very accessible.
The room is huge and clean with most of the basic necessities like fridge, hair dryer and in-room safe. The bed is super comfortable.
There is a big shopping complex near the hotel and a wholesale market selling really cheap stuffs.
Overall, a pleasant and value for money stay.
I had there a wonderful time!

Although Forstar hotel has three stars only, everything was perfect. The staff - reception, cleaning and dining room - was extremly friendly, polite and helpsome. The big and comfortable room was clean and tid every day. Chinese breakfast was inviting and tasty.
I spent there six nights and enjoyed every hour of it. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!
Nice room but that’s about it

I was traveling on business that I brought my family along for a weekend in Chengdu. I picked this hotel primarily due to price (good deals through on-line booking site). Here’s my thoughts:
Pros:
* The room (Deluxe Queen) was amazing - HUGE for a great price. Clean, non-smoking (hard to find in China) and a comfy bed (not a typical rock hard Chinese bed).
* Free in-room internet (not WiFi).
* Quiet location, not too far from key tourist spots and businesses
* Rain shower
Cons:
* No international TV - only one English channel. If I was traveling alone this wouldn’t have been a big deal but with a child it’s a nice to have.
* No bathtub
* Restaurant doesn’t serve any other meals than breakfast. Breakfast buffet doesn’t have a lot of choices. No western choices and no real fruit juice.
* Limited English (although the staff is very nice)
* Not many restaurants within walking distance.
Overall it was a decent hotel and a good deal for the money spent. However, if you are traveling with family you may want to choose another hotel that offers more services and is better setup for tourist. I would stay here again if traveling alone on business.
Value for Money but far away from everything

I stayed here for a couple of days. The hotel chain is well-known in Sichuan Province as I heard but not many taxi drivers know of this branch even when it is the oldest. More of them knew of the Tibet Hotel along the main road than this hotel. The front desk is not very helpful in telling the driver the address as they only say the name of the road where it is at. So I just use the Tibet Hotel as the landmark.
The rooms are newly-renovated and the bathrooms are clean, spacious and comfortable to move around. I do have a concern about the glass wall facing the beds as it is a bit embarrassing to be seen by your roommate if you are not related to each other. Cable internet is free. The breakfast in the Lounge is so-so as I have seen worse. It is value for money so I don't expect too much from this hotel.
The location is far away from everything. I walked for 30-40 minutes on both directions of the People's road to find a Starbucks and several shops.
