Came to this place for my friends rehearsal dinner. Loved the throwback wooden interior. Super friendly staff. Good food. Clean bathrooms. Great beer selection. Cozy environment. What more can you ask for?

Myself and my wife popped in for a bar meal recently and were not disappointed.Nice historical building, good service and reasonably priced. Enjoyed our visit and would call again if in the area. Would recommend.
Wedding Event

My wife and I held our wedding rehearsal / welcome dinner for out of town guests at the Woodenbridge. We couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out - the food was perfect. a great mix of traditional and locally fresh items to the classics and the service was also fantastic. We were able to set a menu beforehand and the communication was flawless. All of our guests raved about the old world charm as well as the central location, with easy access to many famous landmarks and just a short trek from Dublin city center. Some of our guests decided to stay here for our wedding and everyone had positive things to say. Would happily visit again and recommend.
Nice hotel, below average food

Myself and my partner stayed in this hotel for one night and had quite a nice stay, It is an old fashioned but pleasant hotel. The room was a decent size with tea/coffee supplies but it was dated and we could hear through the walls very easily, meaning we were woken early by a screaming child stay a couple of rooms down the hall. Over all nice enough for the price we paid. My biggest issue was with the food which is not cheap for what you get. We had lunch and dinner at the hotel and both meals, both times were bad.
For lunch we got the wings and soup. The wings were below average and the soup was served in a very small dish and was quite thin. The bread was nice, that's about it. For dinner, we ordered the burger and the fajitas. The burger was over done but apparently ok/eatable. The fajitas were terrible, after a long wait, they came out and were so burned that a lot of the food was burned and matted to the dish. With that, all the food tasted like burn. It came with 1 wrap and instead of sour cream, it was served with natural yoghurt. Over all very bad. In saying that, I did tell one of the floor staff who was so nice about it and got it taken off the bill. The staff at the hotel were very pleasant and are definitely the best part of this establishment.
Staff Lovely but Cramped & old fashioned

Honestly...
Staff is absolutely wonderful.
However...My home had no electricity for 2days/nights, with a newborn baby I had enough & needed a warm shower and electricity so I looked up booking.com and booked somewhere local while also confirming all by calling the hotel directly (spoke to a lovely lady on reception).
After loading the car up & baby on board...our electricity came back on!! I rang to cancel the room (literally 5minutes later) to be spoken to SO rudely by a man. He did not offer a solution nor did he have any knowledge on booking process (you can cancel even if booking.com says no if you contact hotel and offer to pay the small fee) and cancellation policy. I was disgusted by how this man spoke to a potential customer I knew then & there he must be a manger/owner.
With the car packed, I decided since I have to pay, I may aswell stay!
Room was cramped...curtains didn't close fully...head board on bed was broken....pram had to be forced through door into room....could hear through walls easily...towels need to be replaced.
But Staff are lovely. Literally that is the only positive review. The staff make the hotel. I do hope that man I spoke to never speaks to customers on the phone for the sake of the business.
Thank you again to a wonderful receptionist and a very friendly breakfast sever.
