We stayed in this resort during dec 2016 and were stuck in port blair due to the cyclone. Like us there were si many who had to leave and many who were arriving unaware of the conditions
Even in such busy conditions the management and staff were extremely helping. Food inside hotel is goodn, we didnt need to go out , yes a little pricey compared to the outside (not other hotels just the regular restaraunts) but you wont feel money wasted.
I would suggest getting a sea facing room. The view from there is awesome. We didnt get a chance to go to pool but from the location i feel the view from inside the pool of the outside would be even better.
The only downside are the interiors of the room and are really small . Even the toilets were not comfortable but the view from the small balcony the room had compensates for the compact room.
All in all a good experience .

Fortune Resort Bay Island is a colonial style property situated right on the waterfront with a beautiful view which would put your mind to rest with the lovely view of the sea and Mt Harriet and Bamboo Flat islands. We were thrilled to know that the view from the outdoor restaurant 'Mandalay' is the scene depicted on the Indian Twenty Rupee note.
The staff is courteous and helpful with all guest requirements being met promptly with a smile. The resturant serves a sumptuous buffet breakfast comprising of a spread of continental, North Indian as well as South Indian items as also fruit, cereal and breads. There is a wide choice of cuisine in the menu as well.
The swimming pool is well maintained and the bar (named 'Nico - Bar') well stocked for those who enjoy their spirits. There is live music in the evenings.
The general manager Mr Virendra Thapa is an engaging and dynamic personality with an eye for detail. He is also (as we discovered) an excellent singer who takes the floor himself on occasion to entertain guests with old hindi numbers.

good location, good staff, delicious food but only one category of rooms..very small rooms and small bathroom......but not up to the value for money that they charge....cant stay for more than one night ..but one night was good

Nice and cosy stay. Delicious food. Staff was friendly. Wi-Fi was OK.Hotel has amazing sea facing view.Breakfast buffet had great variety to offer.Non veg variety was gud.overall it was memorable experience and good stay

while the views from the hotel are fantastic, it is in dire need of an upgrade. the bathrooms espcially are in a really poor condition. for the price it charges, the amenities provided are really poor in the room.
not worth the money.
