i'm an spg gold member, so i was quite surprised that this hotel fulfills the norms associated with starwood/sheraton, etc. gloomy "lobby" with very sad dining area. tacky check in counter with strange den-like personal objects in shelves. thinnest walls EVER. across from the fire station so the flamingo facing windows are treated to a light show and sirens. if you are seeking a handicapped- accessible room, which i was not, but was seeking more quiet than was offered on my first fifth floor option, better find another hotel since that room is completely beaten up with torn furniture, marked up walls and overlooks the pathetic pool. must congratulate starwood on it's photoshoot for taking a c- hotel and making it look b+ for an off strip property. staff tried to be helpful but it was still a depressing night and actually left a day early.

After a 2-night stay I came away from the Four Points Las Vegas East Flamingo wondering whether I'd actually stayed at the same hotel as the number of past negative reviews as it didn't match my experience.
Arriving into McCarran Airport and hoping into a taxi my driver wasn't familiar with the hotel so read off the address which he popped into his GPS and the short 10-minute ride was around $17. Arriving around Noon I wondered whether I'd be able to check in early but happily found my room was ready so unpacked in room 343, a king bed "Traditional Guest Room" that overlooks the small outdoor pool and whirlpool.
The room features an updated bathroom with large shower stall only which is very much to my liking instead of the old style short and shallow tub & shower combinations. The stall has shampoo, conditioner and body wash mounted on the wall but the labels were easy to read. The shower water pressure was really good and availability of hot water never a problem so even though there's a standard shower head I enjoyed starting the day with a shower especially with enough elbow room that the shower curtain isn't draped all over you as usually happens in hotel showers.
The vintage AC unit below the window was a little noisy but got used to it after a while and it didn't impact my night's sleep. The unit actually probably helped clock out some of the traffic sounds from nearby Flamingo Road.
The rest of the room is pretty standard hotel items like flat screen TV and laptop-sized safe but missing was a mini-fridge which given how hot Vegas gets in Summer was a somewhat surprising omission.
I did enjoy a few beers at Best Brews, a lobby bar serving only one local beer on tap which was a really good Porter style brew from Joseph James. The bar is at one end of the area which is called JP's Bar and Grill and doubles as the morning buffet breakfast area. The breakfast offers sausage or bacon, eggs, bagels, toast or croissants, cereals, coffee, tea or juice as well as a waffle maker and is pretty standard fare. If it's included in your room rate it's a bonus but wouldn't pay to add it on if it wasn't.
The staff I encountered from housekeeping to front desk and behind the bar at Best Brews was very friendly and it helped make for a more pleasant stay.
I kept reading in past reviews that the hotel is far enough off The Strip and the area around it unsafe but found neither to be the case as on a warm Oct. Sat. afternoon I walked it and it took around 25 minutes. Yes, there are some transients nearby but if that's all that makes some people consider the area unsafe the same could be said for many, many urban hotels throughout the U.S. I did take an Uber once running short of time to walk and it was $8 but even a taxi likely wouldn't have been much more. At check-out I asked the front desk staff to call me a taxi to take me back to the airport and one arrived in 3 minutes.
Overall I experienced a moderate hotel with a few small quirks but great value as I'd redeemed Starwood hotel loyalty points. Yes, it's a mile from The Strip and that might put many people off however I liked that it was a non-gaming hotel and didn't hit me with a "resort fee" so I'd take this hotel for what it is rather than focus on all the things it isn't.

This hotel is nicely maintained since its conversion a couple of years back. Best value for Starwood in Las Vegas. Location is not on the strip, though walkable it is better to have a car. Secure underground parking with very large elevators all they way to the rooms. Wifi did not work well, constantly disconnecting and one night impossible to connect. Though front staff said they never heard of this problem before two other rooms on the same floor told me they had exactly the same problem. If not for poor wifi, would give this a high recommendation.

Stayed 1 night because we have 6am flight - everything looks like new and clean, I like it. Not expensive due location, far away from the strip, about 25min walking. Waterpool is nice and silent, their is a hot tab.

I spent one night on a recent business trip. The location is convenient to the airport and close to the strip. Some people were walking to the stip but it didn't seem that safe. The staff is very nice. The room was clean. This is a budget hotel and the breakfast was clearly budget. I would recommend this hotel for price and ease of use as the strip hotels are a hassle to get in and out of but its a no frills stay. Underground parking.
