Location, location, location!
Timothy Don 15/11/2017 15:55We had a great time. Awesome location. Innkeeper(s) make you feel right at home. We will stay again. Summertime destination for sure. Very quaint. 120 year old historic home was so cool to stay. We walked everywhere and there was plenty to do downtown.
Great place to rest and recharge!
Ann Son 28/10/2017 04:05We spent our anniversary weekend at Franklin Street Inn and attended a concert at the PAC which was within walking distance from the Inn - a great perk! It is an easy walk to downtown restaurants, shops, markets etc. from the Inn. Our room and bed was very charming and comfortable - loved the two person whirlpool tub! We were able to set our own time for breakfast, which was delicious and ample. It was a nice touch to get a morning cup of coffee just outside our room door! My husband arranged with the innkeepers for an "in Inn" massage as a surprise for me which was heavenly!! What makes this Inn stand out is the helpful and gracious hospitality of the Innkeepers who genuinely care about our stay and comfort! We will be back!
Perfect!
Tracey Bon 29/09/2017 17:08My son and I stayed there when we toured Lawrence University. The Franklin Street Inn was up to par with the best of bed & breakfasts I've stayed in around the country - comfortable, beautifully decorated rooms, nice homey touches like a coffee maker just outside our room, delicious breakfast made with fresh ingredients, and an attentive and friendly host. What really stood out for me is that the owner emailed me a day or two before we arrived, asking if there were any specific dietary requirements or special foods we love - that was above and beyond!
Stayed for a Packers game, lovely place!
Alec Con 29/09/2017 16:54For my birthday, I got Packers tickets and was about as stoked as I could be. Problem, however, was that I live in Dallas and I had literally no idea where I should stay.
Upon doing some research, I found very quickly that hotels around Green Bay start charging $260 a night - and it only goes up from there. And I have to state the word "hotel" loosely, and I'm not even sure "motel" would be a safer answer.
Taking some advice, I looked into Appleton. It's about 30 minutes outside of Green Bay, and only about 90 minutes from Milwaukee. The city is amazing, and has a ton of charm.
After comparing options, we found the Franklin St B and B and amazingly - the price was much better than even the lowest cost motel closer to the game.
The positives:
* Excellent location. Easy to find, has off street parking, neat little park across the street.
* The owners are awesome. We stayed 2 nights and they provided 2 excellent homemade breakfasts. Not the run of the mill muffins and fruit. This was top shelf, specialty made items. And they even made it gluten free for me!
* The rooms had Roku TVs, so you can watch regular TV, as well as Amazon, Netflix, etc. Very nice after a long day at the game.
* It had all the charm you'd want out of an older home, and the rooms were private enough that I didn't even notice that 3 other couples were staying there.
The "bad"?
* Not much. I guess if you want a more modern room - you'd need to look other places. But we wanted to have the traditional, small town feel.
* The room we stayed in had a separate bath, which was a small issue. It was private for our room, but you had to walk down the hall. The other rooms had bathrooms in the room. We saw an option for the Turret Suite, so we might look for that option next time around.
All in all, a very pleasant stay. I would certainly stay there again, and I have already spoken to others that were very excited to try it out. If you want to have a great place to stay, along with a great football game - you'll certainly enjoy the Franklin Street Inn.
We recommend and will return to this Inn
Chris Won 27/09/2017 19:03The camaraderie that we feel when we stay at bed-and-breakfasts is so much better than staying in a motel. The location of the Franklin Street Inn is conducive to visiting Lawrence University, and downtown Appleton. We enjoyed walking to the campus and then exploring the downtown area. It's a great place to stay if you're coming to a Packer game. The interstate access between Appleton and Green Bay is easy and short. Keith and Lorie have done a beautiful job keeping the Inn clean, cozy and comfortable. The breakfasts are nice sized and each day we were served dishes that had interesting twists. For example we had French toast with a filling of chocolate.
