Terrible experience with the operator of this hotel. We booked a number of rooms through July and were told only a few weeks before that the hotel would not be open. I understand a tour operator had the contract for Galatea sea palace for the last year and it is the tour operator (bagaglino hotel and resorts) that is the source of the problem. We have asked repeatedly for our very large deposit to be refunded to no avail. Extremely angry and upset at the treatment we have received from this group. I would not stay at any hotel or resort managed by the bagaglino hotel and resorts group. I hope Galatea sea palace can re open in future with different management as it is a great location, very disappointing that the above tour operator has tarnished the reputation of a hotel that had been in business for many many years.

The only problem with this hotel is the STAFF. Extremely rude and not nice people. More specifically the staff in the kitchen. They are so noisy and never let people eat in peace. They always want to be in the center of attention which is not what a 4-star hotel should be like. The staff tries to kick you out of the restaurant at 21.01 sharp with every possible way including taking the plate out of your hands. Extremely rude!!! I want to give the attention to the short, old man who is working there!
Overall a good hotel to stay BUT mind the kitchen staff!!!

To all people who are planning a trip to Aci Trezza, Catania and the whole area there, the best hotel you should go to is Galatea Sea Palace.
About the rooms:
The Rooms are very big, huge porch with great view to the sea and also a kitchen...I went to many hotels in europe and non of them was like that.
The hotel crew and staff:
A basic reason why I liked the hotel so much was also because of the wonderful staff, people who are very friendly, kind and social that all they want is to give you good service and make you happy. There are alot of activities all day for both, kids and adults, great music next to the pool...
The area:
The hotel is located on a main street so there is no good place to walk or go to by a walk, that's why you should rent a car, to visit the places you want to, or go buy stuff from the super market...if you want go hangout for fun at night there is an area called Aci reale that is located 5 minutes away from the hotel by the car where there are many restaurants and people (to all those who like fish markets, there is a fish market from 2 a.m. To 6 a.m.)
So all I can say that it's a very good trip that I will never forget and I'm sure that to this place I will come back for sure!

We stayed here and had an amazing time. We traveled there for the San Giovanni Festival held in June. We rented two of the family residences and they were comfortable and spacious. It is a bit of a distance to the quaint town of Acitrezza, and would recommend renting a car or hiring a driving service to escort you around the area. The restaurant is good and the prices are reasonable. My family & I had an amazing time. It is a beautiful property with access to the water, pool & plenty of chairs to sun bathe.

I did like this place and so did my family. Kids did love swiming pool.
Brekfast was good and staff very helpfull I must to say. We went there at October last year so it was very quite as tourist season gone. Location was good too easy to get with car many places for example Taourmina and Etna .
