Type of room will make a big difference.

1 week stay last week. Booked online, easy check in. We weren't impressed with our first room which faced the main st. It was neglected and very outdated. We had to ask for towels and the bed only had 1 sheet that covered the mattress underneath the main blanket.
Next morning, we upgraded to a 2 room unit with a kitchenette, dining area, and living room. It was cleaner, better maintained with tasteful furnishings, and felt we more settled in. We were very happy with this room which was such a big difference compared to the first night.
It was really hot with temps up to 41C and the AC in both rooms worked very well. Shower was fine but could use more water pressure. Water didn't get steaming hot but was warm enough. Good wifi signal. Couch cushions could use a cleaning/steaming. I ended up using the spare blanket as a cover for the couch. Had a car rental, lots of parking available. Front desk, housekeeping, security, maintenance staff were helpful and friendly.
We didn't try the restaurant or food. There are lots of places to eat that are within walking distance. We would stay here again as it ended up working out very well for us. I give it an average rating as I think the hotel could benefit greatly if all rooms were refreshed and renovated.
OK Overnight Pet Friendly Hotel

I give the Gamma 3 1/2 stars. Staff was nice and accommodating, the room was clean and close to the security guard station and the price was very reasonable. Traveling with a dog it can be difficult to find pet friendly accommodations and in Ciudad Obregon this was about the only place available. The room is small but not cramped, and everything worked fine (the AC, the shower, etc). There is a pool however it was closed when we were there. There is a restaurant at the hotel and a number of places to eat with short walking distance. There is also a starbucks about 6 blocks away for your morning coffee. No complaints and I will be staying there again on my return trip. If you're traveling with a pet they only have a couple of pet friendly rooms so I would recommend booking early..
Two days visit

Pros: on main street, close to everything, good price, big room.
Cons: very old may be from sixties, it is under renovation, but it has the back up of grupo posadas quality, once the remodelation is over it sure will be better
Not So Pet-Friendly

I've been traveling around Sonora for several months and this motel has been the worst by far. From the time I arrived the room was not ready and had to wait then was moved to another room the follow due to noise. The second room had continual problems with the A/C and I spent most of the time waiting around for the repairman.
It advertises it is pet-friendly (100 pesos pet fee) & management does not go out of their way make you comfortable despite other rooms available. I expect to get better service when I have to pay extra for pets.
One thing I've learned about making online reservations in Mexico is to never make more than 1 night in advance then if the place is undesirable you don't have to stay because of high cancellation charges. It seems to be best for a 1 night stay when traveling to another destination.
Advice- don't stay in the section facing the street as it is very noisy 24/7. The farther you get away from the office the weaker the Wi-fi reception.
Edgar made it right

My less than possitive review from January was responded to and made right in April by the new Manager. We booked a room for one night on our way North after wintering in Mazatlan. As promise, Edgar made it right for us by comping the room and personaly checking in on our comfort satisfaction. The room was clean and there was adequately hot water this time.
We had a fantastic meal in the restaurant and a very good breakfast buffet the next morning, also complimentary.
Overall better experience than the previous stay. My advice to Gamma/Fiesta Hotels: upgrade bedding and provide a choice of rooms with softer mattress. Fresh paint, new bedspreads and bathroom doors that close for privacy.
