What People are saying
Just the experience we wanted

The lovely Potluri family of Munnar have done an amazing job opening their home up to guests. I say guests, but really we felt more like family friends during our 3 nights there.
We opted for the two story bamboo loft hut - maybe a bit of a luxurious upgrade for a couple travelling on the cheap, but worth every penny. Wifi and electricity in the hut, but an authentic outdoor experiences. The huts - which I hear were built by Pavan himself - are nestled in a beautiful bamboo fortress (the only word I can think to describe it) with cute lanterns and seats set apart in their garden. If you're not one who likes the sounds of a cute bamboo hut, this accommodation may not float your boat, but you certainly can't fault it.
We chose Potluri's because we were looking for a place with a host who could enhance our experience. Arriving in Munnar with no clue of where to go, Pavan (and his family) was just the guide we'd wanted. He told us which local sites were most interesting, organised a day long rickshaw tour (working out at about £10 per head with a phenomenal driver lasting 7 hours), and even offered us a taste of local culture with a personal cooking class with him and his sister. This last experience alone was fantastic enough, but was enhanced by the quality of the food on offer at Potluri's. By comparison to Munnar (which disappointed our tastebuds somewhat), the breakfast and dinner we enjoyed every day was fantastic. Pavan's butter chicken was stunning, and his sister was a fantastic cook. Reinforcing once again how fantastic our choice of hosts was, we were overawed by the willingness of the family to wash our clothes, adjust our bill, and give us homemade condiments to take home.
Looking back on the experience overall, I believe we had the best experience we could have had in Munnar by coming here. The area is spread apart and requires rickshaws to see properly, so the key to enjoying it is having a host who will help you organise yourself, and get the best deal. Pavan and the Potluri family did this and so much more to ensure our stay was amazing. My girlfriend and I can't thank them enough for all they've done for us. Take our advice and give Potluri's a shot!

I was traveling with my dog. We spent 2 night in the Potluri's 19 degrees. Really good location, close to the Lake and view points. Mornings surprised with tasty home made breakfast. Owner of the place Pavan was very helpful. I did have a good stay and peaceful sleep. Guess my dog was happy too:)

This is an excellent Homestay with a very welcoming family and cool bamboo huts. Very fun decor, would absolutely recommend the home cooked food! The location isn't the closest to the city or any restaurants but it is a lovely quiet area where you can see the crystal clear night sky. It is absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. Highly recommended for a quiet getaway.
Best host!

Me and a friend stayed in one of the two available bamboo huts. The hut was comfortable and clean, with hot water available on request. The food is delicious - it's well worth staying in for dinner.
The real highlight, however, is the wonderful owner Pavan. Exceptionally helpful and great company - I doubt there is a better host in Kerala. He bent over backwards to make our stay pleasant, organising activities for us during the day and providing great conversation and music during the evening.
Could not recommend highly enough. This is where you should stay.

Munnar's nr 1 place to stay

If you are looking for a relaxed meditative stay close to nature, this is the place for you.
Pavan has built two beautiful bamboo bungalows in his garden from his own design. They are comfy and clean and even has hot water.
The food there is all home made by his sister, who is a fantastic cook, and they'll serve you every meal a day if you wish to eat there.
The hosts are the most welcoming and loving people we have met on our travels so far, and they'll stretch far to satisfy your needs if you have any.
You will feel close to nature and have a relaxed time there, even though it's only a 10 minute walk from the nearest town.
The place isn't obvious to find, but if you have gps available, you will have no trouble at all. Once we booked, Pavan gave us a call to guide us as well, which was helpful.
Thank you for a wonderful stay Pavan. You were our highlight of India.
