Unusual but great hotel in Bandipur.
Ardfernbobon 26/10/2017 20:29We stayed in this hotel for two nights and the service was fantastic. The hotel is very much a heritage hotel with traditional style rooms.
No lifts here so the cases are carried up to your room on the backs of the women who are employed in the hotel.
Food was very good and beer prices were very acceptable.
The hotel is right on the main street and very central with great views from the rear.
Brim full of character
Karen Hon 26/10/2017 13:58We had two nights at this fabulously querky, antique hotel. Both the hotel and town were almost magical, like something from Harry Potter. I have no idea how you keep a clay floor so clean! The hotel staff were delightful, and the food delicious. Wonderful Himalayan views from the terrace at breakfast. It was a real adventure and I feel priviledged to have stayed there. Highly recommend to anyone after somewhere unusual.
I have put the noise level at average as we were there one night during a festival so it was very noisy with music and dancing out in the streets until about 11pm, this was good fun and added to the experience. The town was deserted from about 9pm on the other night we were there, and quiet except for the odd barking dog / jackall
Wow! Fabulous!
Julie Lon 24/10/2017 10:03We stayed here for one night only but, as a previous reviewer has said, we wish we had stayed here longer to explore the countryside around Bandipur. The hotel is fabulous, each room is different and quirky and we had top floor rooms with wonderful views. When we arrived the owner/manager greeted us warmly and told us a little about the history of the hotel and Bandipur which was interesting and helped our enjoyment of our stay. Breakfast on the terrace - Wow! - what more can I say?
Great Hotel!
yvonne12442on 23/10/2017 18:59My husband and I spent one night at Gaun Ghar Hotel on our 10 day tour in Nepal. All I can say is I wished that we had more time here. The hotel manager and staff are excellent and make you feel welcome. Food is good and loved eating outside overlooking the beautiful view. We loved the stone wall floors and walls in the rooms it made us feel like we were back in the 19th century. The grand finale of this hotel was our view from our room of the hills and mountains. This place is heaven and I would like to stay here for one week next time in Nepal.
Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Good Stop at Bandipur
rainkimon 14/07/2017 17:04We had one great day and night in Bandipur on the way to Pokhara. Situted at the ridge Of hill Bandipur a typical Newri village offers a panoranic himalayan view and typical Newari culture. we stayed at Gaun Ghar which was simply the best.
