Earplugs is a must
Louise Mon 06/10/2017 22:28Just come back from a nights stay at the Glendevon Hotel. When we arrived we were pleased. The bar and restaurant looked lovely. The staff were polite and friendly. We were shown to our room and we were quite surprised by the outdated room. It needed a lot of work. They must have forgotten to take the tape off the wall after painting the roof. When turning the taps on it didn't do anything then all of a sudden it bursts out. You could also feel the springs in the bed, the duvet was thin. I was freezing in the night.
That evening we ate in the restaurant. The food was lovely.
Around 9pm karaoke started in the bar area. We travelled four hours to get there and wanted an early night. We headed to the room, only to find out that we could clearly hear everything going on down in the bar. We had to turn out tv up to try and drain out the singing. This lasted until 12:30. How ridiculous! It wasn't a cheap stay either. It cost nearly £70 to stay in a hotel where you couldn't even sleep. We was not told that their was going to be karaoke either.
If you are planning on going take earplugs and lots of them.
We will not be staying there again!!
Avoid - nothing good to report
OldWoodsteron 22/09/2017 19:31Awful - very rough and ready hotel, room very basic, plumbing needed attention, decor horrible, difficult parking, bar awful, restaurant awful - struggling to fin anything positive to report. Would never stay again - avoid.
Meal
Olga Bon 24/08/2017 15:12Lovely meal 🍴 can't complain about the food or staff,
I don't like it when Mother's bring their Toddlers into this establishment and let them run around as if it was a pleasure park, I did ask where the slides and roundabouts were as the Mother's can't control their offspring anymore and scream if they can't get their own way
Old and tired
whitto92on 17/08/2017 22:24Shabby digs... won't be stopping here again.... I would of rated 3 stars until Thursday night when the music downstairs was unreal!! Fair enough it's a pub but they are a hotel aswel.. don't think they can balance the 2!! Couldn't wait to get out of this place.. No Wi-Fi in rooms and breakfast is not till 07:30 which was to late for me.
Not so heaven in Glendevon
Paul Ron 16/08/2017 21:08A visit for 5 days was too much for me by four days. Old and tired, and that was me when I left there. Alarm bells should have rang, when there were no pictures of the bedrooms on their website, now I know why.
Drab and tired and it's well overdue an upgrade. The staff are all very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was not the best.
And karaoke on a Thursday night keeps you awake until 01.30, as it seems to get louder the later it gets.
The Spar next door is great for convenience shop, however the delivery truck wakes you up most mornings at 06.00 as it pulls up outside your room.
It just seems to be a contractors place, nothing more than that.
