Friendly family but not my cup ot tea

I must say the family was very welcoming. Though I felt like some things were a miss. My family was there for 2 nights as we were running in the Apple Hill Harvest Run. The first morning my daughter (13 months and eats like a champ) was not even offered breakfast. The breakfast was good but very small. My husband and I ended up feeding our daughter half of ours. The next morning (race day) we needed to leave earlier than their usual breakfast time. One owner told us "no problem, we can have breakfast ready for you early". Which was nice and reasonable seeing that the breakfast is an important component of a B & B. Then the second owner said he'd have some pastries and fruit for us in the morning. I thought ok I don't want to ask for them to make breakfast for us (also know another family was participating in race too so that meant half of their guests wouldn't be getting breakfast). In the morning we woke up to store bought muffins and bananas. I felt the "pastries" could have at least been homemade and cut up a nice variety of fruit. I felt our money was not well-spent. The fact that my daughter wasn't even offered breakfast was a huge downer to us. Again, very friendly people. Just didn't feel satisfied with our stay. I am one that appreciates unique and old charm. Just felt under-cared for and felt that we over-payed for what we received.
Great Place to stay in Placerville or for Apple Hill

Located within a short walk of downtown Placerville (the term, "downtown" for Palcerville being arguable), the Glen Morey Country House si the third oldest building in town and a charming place to spend the night. The hosts are friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was superb. My room (Aberdeen) was quiet and had a small private outdoor sitting area with chaise lounges. It's an excellent lodging experience and I cannot think of anything to complain about.
Perfect

Our family rented the whole place for a nearby wedding and it couldn't have been more perfect. It was comfortable, great hosts, and terrific location. We definitely look forward to visiting again soon.
Really neat historic B&B in Plcerville

Really enjoyed my stay at GlenMorey. I was in town on business and stayed here for 2 weeks. The innkeeper Tom was very nice, attentive and helpful. My room, with en-suite bathroom, was nice, and the bed was very comfy, and I appreciated having a small refrig in the room as well. Breakfasts were great. It was an easy 5 minute walk to downtown. The gardens needed some TLC, but considering the drought in northern CA - it was understandable.I recommend staying at this 1850's historic inn.
Charming house, charming host

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Glen Moray B&B. I love old houses, so chose the Edinburgh room, which has features of the original building. We were very comfortable there, and loved the fireplace, built in alcoves, roomy bathroom and all of the thoughtful touches such as books, antiques, etc. However, it is right next to the porch and across the hall from the sitting room. We were not bothered at all by this, but if you crave maximum privacy and quiet, you should consider the Stirling room, which is in the back of the house and, although a new room, is beautiful and has lots of cozy features. Cookies, tea and coffee were always available, and the breakfast of eggs benedict (with fresh eggs from the family's hens) was excellent. And the location is perfect. It took just a few minutes to walk to town for dinner and shopping. Great choice for a stay in the Apple Hill area!
