We stayed a night over here in October. Houseboat Golden Crest is situated in Floating market neighborhood on the way to local residence. So we can see more local service Shikaras and natives through window.
We can't compare house boat to hotels. House boats provides different experience to visitors. The family who runs Golden Crest are pleasant people and always ready to serve you before asking. They guides visitors like family members.
We felt here, how hotels are different than Houseboat.

Firstly i would like to thanks boat owner behaviour and service 5 star for that but rest of this has a bad experience on the boat ,,,(1)room was dirty no room service available and very small room toilet commode also was not proper fit (2) breakfast was same omelette and bread without butter and honey also got same dinner rice dal and sabji only first day they provided meat and rest of day same dinner dal rice and sabji roti (limited food) without water ..if you want water then u have to pay bottle charge which is also unexpected (3) sucking wifi very low speed less then 2G (4) very low lights in house boats only one fan is attaching every room also no other switch is available in the room if you want to charge anything then you have to remove fan connection .only one switch in every room,,(5) you will not get towels in washroom also will not get any soap or shampoo toothpaste etc complementary thing ..(we asked for this then they gave own toothpaste and new small pack soap)

Stayed in the house boat on 24th aug 2017. It was a pathetic experience.
They dont have ac. The fan also doesnt work properly. Rooms were dirty. Bathrooms were broken....whole boat seamed a 1000 year old. Cracking sounds coming from every side.
Food was tasty but portions were too less.
And the person in charge doesnt know how to behave with customers
I highly reccomend not to stay here

Excellent service of this house boat property and it kept extremely clean. The staff/Owner is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast area is spacious and one of the best I have experienced. Hot Water and Airport Shuttle was excellent service with friendly and safe manner. The room was spacious and very comfortable. “Great staff that know the true value of customer service” - I special mention again. The “Shikara” was again best I experience as I guided with reasonable rate for owner of house boat.
On this stay lucky it was my wife birthday and she had enjoy some outstanding celebrations arrange from owner on the house boat. Thank You for making birthday celebration.
The owners new house boat “UMBRELLA” is getting ready for coming seasons for guest services. I'll be back to this place and highly recommend to others when in the area.

June 3 -10.2017 I was visiting Jammu and Kashmir.
my advisorsand guides was family who run Golden Crest House Boats specialy Mr.SULTAN.This gentelmen was my guaide and guard.He show me all places visitor should see when in Jammu and Kashmir. Gulmarg Usmarg Sonamarg Pahalgam
and beautyfull gardens around Sinagar.i was very safety.This whole team who was servicing me was very friendly and they do everything to make my happy and i was happu.they put to the service not only skill doing business but they added big heart to make costumers satisfied.They take care of me like family member.
Cause of this team I" ll never forget this place with this heartly people.
I recomend this service without hasitation. if You not try this service You will not see
Jammu and Kashmir as very safety and gorgeous place to travel
