Will be back again this coming year in apartment 2D,one/bed/apartment 2017 /2018,flight booked ...It has all the facilities, you need for a long stay, [ as do all the 2 bed,,apartments+3bed houses !] .Out of the 36 homes on the complex there only about,20 to rent, [ The rest are kept for Private use only ]. We arrange our own cleaner//laundry,,airport pick up ,all via local Friendly people, [ Haggle,if you get Taxis ],We rent Scooter its o k on local roads, Its a 10 to 20 minute walk to the supermarkets +Good local restaurants, in Betalbatim or Marjorda village, As well the beaches,had some great food at some of the beach shacks, We use Sams Shack at Majorda beach ,as well as Sams space at Betalbatim The maintenance of the complex is now control by,the owners.
When in your search for a place to stay be sure you have all your needs covered in writing I E Wifi cleaning /laundry etc. I looked on booking .com and saw the same pictures for two different apartments at 2 different prices but same dates,it could have been 2 owners with same photos. [ Beaware.] Some restaurants have entertainment on,you can go to the next town ie Colva,or Margoa, make a effort,, be adventurous there are dafintely delicious, foods out there locally and near by restaurants. No lively nightlife, if you want lively try north Goa.

Great option for a holiday .
Secure secluded complex with good support staff.
Near to couple of beaches market gym , restaurants.
J2 the bungalow where we stayed was more than adequate and contained overlooking the pool and the field with the palm fringe of the beaches.
Excellent option for a family / group getaway for an extended holiday.

We have stayed here for the past 6 years. This is not a hotel - there is no restaurant or bar - the pool is good though. Lets be clear about Golden Sands - it's no longer a resort controlled by one owner. As another reviewer has stated the apartments, one and two bedroom, have been sold off to various private owners, some own just one apartment , some several. This explains why different prices may be thrown up by searches. It also explains why the quality of apartments may vary with respect to furnishings and equipment. At one stage the maintenance of the complex looked as if it was going downhill but the owners seem to have brought in contractors and things are improving.
Most apartments have fridge/freezer, air-con in at least the bedroom, tv, microwave, toaster and gas ring burner. Cleaning arrangements vary but even if one is not included you can soon hook up with one - just ask the regular staff.
Location is off the beaten track so, if you don't like to, or can't, walk then you will need to hire a car, scooter or cycle, or use the taxis which can be a bit expensive [haggle!]. Upside is that it is down quiet shady lanes and the locals are generally very friendly and will say 'hello'. Nearest restaurants are a twenty to thirty minute walk away or you can use the beach shacks - a similar distance. Beach dominated by Russians but you can find some shacks with a loyal British clientele! Don't be put off about walking the roads at night, we've never had a problem in 20 years. There are some small shops in Betalbatim and Majorda villages - bigger supermarkets need a taxi to Margao maybe. Don't go expecting a lively nightlife - you won't find it.

True to the description it was home away from home.I was traveling with my wife and 1.3yrs old kid, wanted a place which was neat spacious with a kitchen and absolutely got what i was looking for. The rooms( Front room & bed room) are spacious with ceiling fan and AC.The front room has TV,dinning table which opens out to a sit out area. Kitchen is well equipped with microwave, fridge,mixer,basic utensils and gas stove. Bathroom was spotless clean with provision for hot water. Bath towels were provided but you have to get your own toiletries.There is even a washing machine if planning to stay longer. Garden, swimming pool and surrounding place was clean and immaculate. The beach is good twenty minutes walk from the place and through the fields so could be pretty dark in the evenings. There are good eat out places near by like martins connor ,fishka which are just about 5-10 min drive.
Overall, we absolutely loved the Golden Sands Apartments and would definitely recommend it.

Not all apartments are controlled by the same owners,Golden sands got rid of some works,as the owner,would not pay for the bad service they received ,,other owners supplied cleaners for there apartments ,,some said get, your cleaners, We did this,easy, to hire local lady Maria and apartment got good service all winter..By the end of March,/April 2016,New Maintance men/outside cleaning, was looking good again.
Going this winter Dec/Jan,,2017,,will hire Maria again [very reasonible rate]good service,, Owner provides any maintance service required, via his agent. looking foreward to this winter..
