I had a very comfortable stay at the Goodstay hotel. It is located just behind the Daegu train station, and therefore is well located. The guy at reception was English-speaking and extremely helpful. He gave me an English map and explained how to get to Haein-sa -- the temple Unesco site.
In addition, there is a fridge with unlimited bottled water and an great bean-grinding coffee machine with take out cups.
Goodstay is certainly what it is¡

• 1 minute walking distance from subway, 3 minutes walking distance to train station,
• The hotel is inside small street, please pay attention and look around signboard after subway exit#3,
• Reception is 2nd floor, welcome drink is bottle water,
• Good location, convenience for public transport (bus, taxi) ,some restaurants around, big department store, supermarket, convenience store in 1 to 3 minutes walking distance,
• Staff is ok, don’t know English and Chinese,
• Hotel is old, room is colorful, clean and spacious,
• Daily housekeep and change towel,
• Air Con and hot water shower is in god condition, hair dyer, hot water boiler Shampoo, bath gel …also available

The hotel is extremely comfortable. It is a little bit out of the way but does offer lovely, comfortable rooms that overlook the water. Breakfast is also served every morning. The room is very clean and stocked with many

The hotel is located behind the massive Daegu Metro station/Lotte mall complex. The location itself is quite central but the hotel is hard to find given that it is located in an alley between the mall and Daegu station. The Opera House is a 15-minute walk away and a taxi to the centre costs around 3000 won. The room was big with a large bathroom. However, there was no character to it and felt quite sterile. The hotel staff members were friendly and helpful despite limited English. This is a "love motel" so it has a rather "quiet" feel to it - no lobby area and a check-in desk that is on the 2nd floor! The price is average for a budget hotel in Korea but would recommend searching for other options if you want something a bit "classier" and providing a bit more of an atmosphere. A place to sleep but that's about it.

location was right next to daegu subway metro, but don't count on it being easily found. main entrance opens to a dirt road, no named roads, impossible to get a cab. taxi drivers do not know it too. its a 2-star love motel.
good for no frills 1-night stay. don't think about bringing your children there.
sheets changed everyday but dubious stains. otherwise furniture, toilet all very dated. basic but clean.
computer, wifi, cable tv, aircon all available.
friendly old aunty as the main staff, complimentary bottles of water from the fridge.
wouldn't stay here again unless just for a night's sleep while travelling
