We stayed at the Gopi Guest House for three nights in October 2017.
Our AC room was upstairs, close to the rooftop restaurant.
You shouldn't expect anything luxurious. Ther rooms are simple but clean. The AC only works from around 6 pm to 8 am. That wasn't a problem a problem for us, as we spent most of the time exploring the temples.
Breakfast is excellent; you can choose whatever you want from the rooftop restaurant menu.
The staff is helpful. They organised a pickup at Hosapete after we arrived with the morning train. We booked a certified guide for the temples and a rickshaw with them as well.
We can only recommend a stay at Gopi.

First of all I want to thank Viru and the crew for accommodating us on short notice. After arriving with the sleeper train from Bengaluru to Hosapete they organized a pick-up within 5 minutes after calling them and booking a room. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was no WiFi reception in the room, but we didn't mind.
Everyone in the area knows that Mango Tree is the most frequented restaurant. I recommend the Hyderabadi Babycorn Curry served at the rooftop at Gopi (if you like spicy food). The Indian food is comparable if not better. If you want to enjoy a nice sunset ask Viru for directions to the nearest outlook or just enjoy it from their rooftop with a cold refreshing drink.
Viru gave us some helpful tips for our stay. We even booked him for a guided tour, which was filled with a lot of background information about the monuments and their Hindu meaning. He is very knowledgeable and religious. The pace of the tour was comfortable. We never felt rushed or unwelcomed.

We stayed overnight at this guest house. Verru the manager went to great trouble to ensure we were well looked after. Simple clean accommodation. Can get a bit noisy at weekends with people arriving and going. Roof top restaurant gives you great views of Hampi and monkeys!

We stayed in Gopi Guesthouse for two nights and the stay could not be better - rooms are simple but clean, food is tasty, good vibes and the best personal you can come across: helpful, funny, knowledgeable.

The property was located in the heart of Hampi just by the river and one of the temples. There was a gorgeous view from the roof over both! Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We were picked up from the train station. I also left a tshirt in the room but didn't realise until I left. Staff went out of their way to help return it to me in Goa!! Extremely kind of them to help! Food is on a terrace overlooking beautiful view and probably the best food you will find in Hampi- especially this side of the river!! Highly recommended! This place is great! Thankyou for a wonderful stay!
