An awesome experience in the month of July when the forest is closed for monsoons. The only place one can visit in the entire Gorumara range is Dhupjhora Gachbari. The service is awesome, you will entirely feel at home, Food is Awesome. And the icing in the cake is the Elephant safari across the Murti river. If you are a fun traveler and ready to get drenched on an elephant ride. This is the place and the season to experience the greenery of the forest.

We went their on April'17 and stayed their for 1 night. It was an awesome, eventful experience.
We had booked 3 cottage and 1 tree house. It has only 1 tree house.
The tree house experience is unique. I stayed their with my wife and 2 year old son. The house is pretty much within the jungle. Two side of it is dense forest, and one side tee garden. In the night it is all dark with millions of Jonaki lighting. It was a thrilling experience.
During our stay there was a hailstorm and it hit the house hard. There was a power cut and in the mid night the power back up service was not available. So we were shuttered and tensed with all the incidents. Suddenly we found the house was shaken in the storm and we were helpless. As I had my bay with me, I prefer to move out of the house and moved to some other cottage. It was an unique, trilling experience.
The elephant ride was really good and an awesome experience. We were enough lucky to saw Rhino, Bison, Deer and peacock.
Food quality is homely and good for all.
I suggest you to stay in Tree house unless and until you are not accompany by a child. Otherwise it is a awesome experience.

We stayed at the treehouse on the 3rd April and enjoyed the wilderness. They show you the elephant bathing in the afternoon which was very nice and the tribal dance show in the evening was great. It was raining in the evening but they waited for the rain to stop to begin the dance show which we enjoyed greatly. The next morning we took the elephant ride and spotted bisons and deer. The only downside I can say is that some of the furniture in the treehouse need changing and cleanliness needs to be improved otherwise its a great place to stay and enjoy. To book the treehouse or the cottages you can call Mr Manab Ghosh from the Forest Department at 9932786001 who will explain you the procedure. You will have to make a SBI draft and post it to him and the money regarding food will need to be payed directly in his office when you arrive at lataguri.

We visited Dhupjhora Elephant Camp in the last of Feb '17. It is a perfect destination for nature lovers.There are 6-7 cottages of which the one named Teesta is built on 2 trees. It has a magnificent view of the forest and tea gardens. We saw peacocks, woodpecker, parrots and oriole from our balcony. The elephant bathing in Murti river, the elephant ride and the evening cultural programmes - all were good experiences. The people were helpful. Rooms were overall clean. Food was average. However, there were some drawbacks and disadvantages - 1. No gizar in any room. 2. Rooms, stairs and railings need maintenance. 3. Large rats are there in tree house. and they become active as soon as the light is switched off.

I had an awesome experience in the Elephant camp, I would like to especially mention the tree house in the camp. If you want to feel the silence of the wild at night it is the best place to stay. The people of the camp are very helpful and warm. Healthy and tasty food is served in the dining space. Elephant ride is a must. good time to go there is winter and early summer.
