Hotel was booked as a package through easyjet deals and I only chose this deal based on reviews and wasn't disappointed. Great location and price for 3 star. €30 taxi airport transfers and a lovely walk along the prom to to old town where it all happens. Always felt safe and everyone is really nice. Basic hotel but nice. Only thing which could be changed is bathroom could do with a fresh lick of paint that's it. 9/10 very chuffed.

This was a return visit, and not disappointed same great service and helpful staff, good breakfast, nice clean room 2nd floor front of building this was a great value break booking via British Airways including flight we will book again.

Have just returned from another fantastic stay in this lovely hotel. We had an amazing room with balcony overlooking the rooftops of Nice. Clean and comfortable. Lovely friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights here and will certainly be returning.

Had the most amazing time away in nice. My boyfriend and I booked a package through easyJet for a short get away for my birthday. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. So polite everytime we left and entered they struck up a conversation. We were staying for two nights. As a bonus guests can use the facilities of their sister hotel. The first night we did not use as their was a power cut but the second day we went over their and it was very relaxing. We got to use their pool and jacuzzi on the rooftop enjoying some tasty cocktails and soaking up the sun. The Weather was amazing so this was a super bonus. The hotel Gounod is a bit outdated and a little dark but the rooms are a great size and we even got two bathrooms. One with a bath and shower/bath and another with a shower.Lot of storage space and comes with a fridge. There was even room for a sofa. We had a very comfortable stay. AirCon/ heating is available if needed. You can even request for a late checkout for an extra cost. Such a great location which was perfectly central to everything. It is located minutes from the beach and about ten mins to the train station which we got a train to Monaco for the day. Great value in money for a three star hotel. There is a small room for breakfast which was pretty basic. The hot drinks machine was not working and they had ran out of apple juice but they were very apologetic. Breakfast included Fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, selection of pastries, breads and jams, selection of cheeses and Yogurts . Perfect location, great value for money, warm and welcoming staff, great facilities what more do you want! Most amazing time away that I’m so sad to leave . Thank you so much :)

We arrived a few hours pre check in and were kindly allowed leave cases at reception.
Receptionist was efficient and professional.
I'm by no means fluent in Francais but try to speak a little and I love how the French encourage it. So for anyone staying here or in any other French hotel for that matter try a few basic words in French. Although staff will kindly speak en anglais if and when needed.
Comfortable Room on 4th floor avec une balcone ...grand size and looked like bathroom was recently modernised.
Le petit dejeuner
I had breakfast one morning only as preferred fresh fruit and at the carrefour supermarché about 3 minutes down towards promenade des Anglais. But it was good ...all the usual foods one would expect.
There is access to the swimming pool in their sister hotel...the splendid but to be that's a waste if time ...I spent mine out soaking up the sun and watching the locals .
I did some yoga in a nearby hall ...up towards the train station .
We also got the 200 bus to Juan les pins 2 of the days as my friend not too keen on the stony beach in Nice.
Checking out was easy.
Receptionist Gaeille (hope that's spelt correctly) was on receptionist our last 2 days . She's a local nice girl and all her interactions with guests I couldn't help notice as she was so enthusiastic and friendly.
Newspaper available chacque matin.
Local , national and international. This was a bonus for me!!
