Just a perfect location to explore Orvieto. Charming and comfortable. We had a balcony with a great view. If you are looking for a super modern hotel, this is not it. It is charming, comfortable, clean and just the right hotel to get the feel of the city. There were a number of large common areas, inside and out. We were there on a Rick Steves tour

Nothing pretentious here, just a small hotel near the center of the action, one block off main street. Very clean lobby and rooms. Very quiet. Our room was typical - two twins shoved together, not lot of space (as usual with hotels of this kind in Europe). Friendly staff; good value.

This is worth hunting up. But look sharp as you do it. There is a bronze plaque on the front that "Grand Albergio Italia." Don't split hairs. That's it! The staff is pleasant and helpful. My bed was comfortable. And the effect of the spaces of the old building exotic and mysterious. The location is great. It is a very goode experience for the money.
Oh! If one must quibble, the wifi isn't much. But the city public wifi worked great in my room.

We were dismayed to find no air conditioning when we entered our very hot top floor room (not on yet, in May). But in the evening the room cooled off sufficiently. It was a big room by local standards. The staff was very cordial. Breakfast that came with our tour was good. Some stairs to get to the elevator. Try to get a top floor room with a balcony .

We spent three nights at the hotel with an Odysseus Unlimited tour. We a disappointed with hotel. Definitely not four stars. Our room was very small, the furniture very dated. Only one desk chair in the room; three small cubicles only for clothes. The shower stall was the smallest we have ever experienced. It was smaller than any cruise ship. Our elbows hit the sides when washing. The breakfast buffet was basic and just adequate. The public area are also very dated. The location is good with everything in town within walking distance. Be aware before booking this hotel.
