What People are saying

Great location - needs some attention

Neville Gon 14/11/2017 09:25

Very good location but our room is sadly lacking in attention - even some paint and replace the pathetic cupboards with sagging doors etc would make a difference. It's not cheap to stay here and I think the guest deserves more.

Easy place to stay

Katznkaye55on 01/11/2017 08:19

Stayed 4 nights here on a girls away weekend. Apartment was tidy and comfortable but no restaurant on site. Apartment was comfortable and quiet with a view over the city and water, on level 15. The place is a bit dated and needs a revamp, but forgiven as very central to the city.

Expensive stay

Glenny49on 10/10/2017 20:25

The person at reception was very friendly and we had an early check in. The room we were in, we were not offered an up graded one, but suspect if we had been it would have been with a city view, not out the back of all the buildings with very noisy bars below.having bars meant extremely noisy wake up calls in the early hours as the bottles were disposed of.
The room was described as having a full kitchen, but had a fridge, microwave, plates, toaster, jug and cutlery on a wooden cupboard with a half tiled top. Adequate for what we wanted, but is it hygienic for housekeeping to wash glasses, cups etc in the bathroom without dishwashing liquid?
The beds were extremely comfortable, but the second bedroom had no wardrobe or even anywhere to hang clothes. Both rooms had bedsit lights, that required you to get out of bed to turn them off and on!!!!!!!.
The room key had to be re activated 5 times and the wind whistled around the room including the door lock, making it appear like someone was trying to get into the room.
As a Platium member of Accor I guess I was disappointed that my friends first experience was not great, also the lack of a bar or dining necessitating walking around the corner and up the road in the wind and rain did nothing for either of us.
Am disappointed that this hotel is definitely not 4 star as I have stayed in many Accor three star that are better and that as a loyal Accor Member this was not acknowledged, not even with a welcome letter.

A 4 day stay in Wellington

alysong874on 07/10/2017 11:37

My visit to Wellington was a combined stay with my son, catching up with friends and visiting Te Papaand the 'Galliopoli' exhibition and also going to the Wearable Arts Show. The location of the hotel was perfect for all of these venues. I paid a little bit extra to have a view of the harbour andI wasn'tdissapointed. Every member of the staff that I met were so lovely and helpful from beginning to end and made my stay a real plus. The only thing that would stop me giving it a 10 out of 10 is that the rooms are a bit tired and dated now and the kitchenette bench had a big stain on it from where someone had maybe burnt it with a pot and also the ventilation outlets need a bit of a clean. However did not really worry me too much asI was out an about and enjoying Wellington.

Better places to stay

APinCanberraon 30/09/2017 20:24

On the upside the location is excellent. Easy walking distance to all the cool parts of the cool little capital. The lifts are always ready and quick enough. However, the rooms, while clean, are poor. They are bashed around and really poorly laid out. It’s like the place was something else in a former life and Mercure dropped their brand on top of it. They are not apartments. The kitchen is a cupboard in the corner and the washing up is in the bathroom in the vanity sink. Not very useful and dangerous. The windows whistle in the Wellington gales. The beds are average. There are much better places to stay in Wellington.
