This is by far my favorite place to stay in London – in fact, one of my places to stay anywhere! It feels like a home rather than a hotel, full of interesting art and books and records. Hazel is an incredibly warm and welcoming host, an amazing cook, and has a wealth of knowledge about the neighborhood and its history. If you're looking for something different from the usual hotel experience, I can't recommend it highly enough.

My son and I had a very pleasant stay in Grove Guest House just a couple of weeks ago. Hazel is an excellent hostess, we definitely felt at home right at the start. The place is clean, beds are comfortable and the breakfasts are scrumptious. Hazel is a very caring hostess and quite accommodating, she even gave up her own bedroom for me for one night due to our booking error - totally our fault, but thank heavens for Hazel's kindness and quick thinking, I did not end up sleeping on the street of East London! I highly recommend this place, the Forrest Gate train station and several restaurants as well as grocers and fruit stalls are just around the corner. I will definitely go back to this place next time I visit. Hazel became a friend by the time we left. Nothing will beat that feeling.

Staying with Hazel is like having a home away from home.
We were in London to watch the Athletics at the nearby London Stadium.
We had a comfortable time with Hazel and as ever she was friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. She also gave us some good suggestions for trips (Greenwich and the River Boat up to Westminster).

From London Town, it's but a stones throw;
Hazel hosts with style and flair,
Her famous meatballs are too good to share!
She is tour guide, cook and confidante,
What more in a host could anyone want?
Her omelettes are smashing, her chicken is crisp, the salmon just melts and her puddings are bliss!
On nights she's doesn't cook, don't get in a flap,
Nip round the corner to Aromas, dinners ready in a snap.
Hazel opens her home with warmth and laughter;
I promise you now, your London stay won't get any brighter!

I had a lovely stay at Hazel's house! Hazel is super-friendly and will make sure you have everything you need for a great stay. Neighbourhood is nice and calm and through Hazel you will definetly feel like part of the community.
