The hotel is in a great park. Residents of the hotel have privileged access to the park and reserved garden of the hotel. It is a nice place for taking walks in a great sinery.
The breakfast is good. The room has a small fridge. The service is in general good. The room service needs improvement.
The hotel offers shatles to the Gucun Park subway station on Line 7.
The main disadvantage is that the air conditioner doesn't work (I was told that it is the government policy to save energy). Also, to get to restaurants, one needs to walk for a while or take shatle to Gucun Park Mall.
Overall, it is a good hotel with a decent service.

I arrived at shanghai pudong airport thats about 50km (31 miles) away from the hotel. The cabman didn't know the route fortunately I printed a little map from TripAdvisor before I travelled there.
(Hotel is difficult to find because it's in the middle of gucun park)
The double room was well appointed and clean. Air condition worked brilliant and the bed comfortable.
The park around the hotel is great but in july there are some kind of grasshoppers that make very loud noise.
I searched for restaurants and shops but you need to walk for about 10 minutes to the next shop and I didn't found a delicious restaurant close to the hotel.

A Surprise to find the hotel situated in a very nice green area & close to the Metro station.
I understand that this is a 'Government ' hotel, & evidenced by a number of people in military uniforms staying there.
The hotel has all the facilities you need & the staff are generally friendly and helpful. The food on offer is good & reasonable priced. The only thing that I would say was a little off putting was that my room was some what dark, the decor & the panelling was a tad off putting. The whole place really needed to brighten up. Needless to say the wifi was somewhat 'in & out' which I guess is the norm for westerns.
However over all very good.

Very nice place with lots of green views from every window. Located in a big park close to metro station. The park is great for evening walks and the air feels more fresh than in the rest of the city. Service is good. Definitely a recommend.

We have traveled to Shanghai multiple times and had always stayed downtown near the Bund to take advantage of the shopping and nightlife. This time, we were traveling as a family and wanted a break from the urban scene. We were recommended this hotel by a friend and couldn't have been happier.
It is located in Gucun park which is large but slightly smaller than Central Park in NYC. It is known for the Cherry Blossom festival every March when the hotel is packed. Other times however, the hotel is quiet and a perfect place to relax after a long trip or plane ride. You are able to have free access to the park with your hotel card from a private entrance. And it is not crowded like every other park in Shanghai. We rented a electric boat and circled through the lily pad ponds and the botanical gardens.
The rooms themselves were clean and big. The breakfast buffet every morning was great with chinese and western dishes, complete with made to order omelets, noodles and wontons. And there was an espresso machine.
There's also a shuttle that takes you to the Gucun subway station, which you can call the hotel to have them pick you up. It is about a 10 min walk otherwise.
All in all, if you are looking for escape from the usual Shanghai urban scene, this is a great option! Will definitely stay here again.
