A superb hotel after a bad start !!

What a terrible start to celebrate my wife’s 65th birthday (9/11) & our 45th wedding anniversary (11/11)
We arrived at 13-30pm on Tuesday 7th November to be informed by reception that The Junior Suite (room 810) wasn’t ready, but that it would be ready in 30 minutes. It’s not as if they didn’t know that further guests would be arriving as they always know well in advance.
We were told that there was added pressure on the staff for the cleaning of rooms. That is really no excuse as during these busy periods which they are fully aware of in advance, more staff should be employed even if it’s just temporarily staff. Stop watching the profit margins as we all paid quite a lot for our holidays & as we had paid for the upgrade to a Junior Suite we definitely expected our room to be ready on time.
After chasing Reception we had to wait for just over an hour for our room to be ready & like other guests were given one glass of Cava per person while we waited presumably in an attempt to placate waiting guests.
Looking at previous Tripadvisor comments this seems to occur regularly & indeed we witnessed this ourselves during our stay.
As we later discovered this is a lovely 4star hotel but desperately needs to employ more staff to clean or refresh rooms.
All that said this is an excellent hotel to stay in & all of the staff were friendly & helpful at all times & my basic Spanish was appreciated by all.
Our bathroom included a walk in shower, bath with overhead shower, together with bath robes & slippers, double basin with scales underneath (avoid until the end of your holiday), hair dryer, toilet & bidet & our towels were changed daily, (or whenever required).
Our air conditioned bedroom contained a Queen size bed with side tables & lights including reading lights, a sofa, desk with chair & also a table with another chair, television with Sky news & some English channels, plus a safe. We also had tea, coffee & milk together with a kettle. There is also the usual fridge with drinks at a price & for which you’ll be charged if you attempt to use it for other items.
Through our patio doors on our balcony we had a table & two chairs facing the lovely sea view.
The bedroom doors are soft closing & the hallways are carpeted thus giving a quiet nights sleep.
A very nice touch was the fresh flowers left in our room from time to time together with two chocolates daily & a bottle of Cava to celebrate my wife’s birthday.
We also had more chocolates left in our room on the twin swan towel display made on one of the tables to celebrate our anniversary.
The restaurant is large & in the evenings the wait for a table is usually only a matter of minutes & the wine waiter comes to you immediately. The food is replenished constantly & caters for all tastes. I would recommend the house red wine at just over 12 Euros a bottle & is a must each evening to fully enjoy the dining experience.
There are numerous sun loungers scattered around the large hotel grounds & as there is a hotel policy of removing unattended towels on sun loungers before 10-00am there is no rush
to get a couple for yourselves.
As we have already made holiday bookings abroad for March, June & September next year we will eventually come back to this splendid hotel & would recommend this hotel to anyone, but hotel management please sort out the issue that many (or is it most) customers have to endure waiting for their room to be available on arrival, as we have never experienced this before in all the hotels that we have stayed in both home & abroad in nearly fifty years of travelling.
Amazing

VERY CONFUSING. & NO VALUE FOR MONEY

what a lovely hotel. Staff and food very good. Sadly it’s a victim of its own success with its privilege status.
Really not worth the extra money you pay. Let me validate this comment.
It’s unfair to restrict people who pay the additional upgrade fees. Then your still getting charged for things. Everything you have you have to sign for.
And the drinks in the prestige lounge only available up to 21.00. Should be
22.00 or 22.30 max. Then having to pay for drinks on top with your meals. Even water. Between TUI & this hotel I believe it to be over priced and over rated.
I never mind paying for extras but the confusion does leave the feeling of being ripped off. The snacks available during the day in privilege are limited and never enough. As well as being ushered out of the lounge at 21.00 in not the most polite way. Personally as much as I like this hotel. I would not stay here again until all the confusion and a financially fair system is reviewed and changed.
It’s a great shame that this lovely hotels services really are a rip off compared to better hotels. You could actually stay in a better hotel rather this the H10 gran tinerife. We celebrated my wife’s birthday and our 7th anniversary.
With another week to go. It can only get better or we could just cut our loses and book into another hotel. Come with an open mind. But have your wallet cash and credit cards ready.
Chambermaids fantastic.
Bar staff excellent
Food tasty
Drinks are very expensive
And in my opinion the privilege is not worth upgrading to.
Pay for towells is unfair
Pay for safe is unfair.
Please look at what your offering and be more realistic with the privilege service.
It would sell so much better.
And great no kids allowed.
We have another week to go in room 910
Can it get better. I will tell you.
2nd Visit

This is the 2nd time my mum & I have stayed at this hotel in the last 18 months & would definitely stay again.
From start to finish nothing was too much trouble! We had one issue which was resolved straight away and was given a change of room.
A good variety of food with different themed evenings.
Dani & the animation team did a great job organizing a full time table of activities during the day & great entertainment acts during the evenings every night. Thanks again Dani & all your team for the hard work & effort you put in.
Hotel is ideally located right next to the beach & within easy walking distance to Playa Fañabe & Playa De Las Américas.
Looking forward to planning our 3rd visit to this hotel.
Never ever again!!!

Firstly my only positive of this hotel is the cleanliness and location. Meal times I can describe as manic. You have to queue to get your drink ticket as nothing is free and everything is charged to your room even water!! The main reason for my negative review is the rudeness of a particular receptionist called Victor. There was an oversight by the hotel as although we paid for drinks as we went along, this was not put on the computer. When we went to checkout we had a bill for the entire week even though there was only 12 euros we needed to pay. Victor was so rude and argumentative I really could not believe what I was hearing. We explained that we were not blaming him for the hotel error but he would not even accept anything we were saying and was extremely defensive saying underneath his breath shaking his head "unbelievable". When asked if he would stop he wouldn't and continued to be very unrespecrful to us. In a nutshell I would never return for this point alone. This man should be sent on a customer service training session so no other guest has to witness the behaviour and attitude we experienced
