Far below any standard

The hotel room was fas below any standard. The bathroom delivers warm water only after several minutes. Shower was cold. Ceiling was rotten. The staits to the upper flor was worn-out. The stair railing was in a dangerous condition.
excellently situated with lots of great restaurants 2 mins from Marble Arch tube station

Two of us on the 3rd floor which was due to my booking as I would have preferred less climbing. The two guys and one woman I dealt with that worked there were good and friendly. The maid was a woman from Morocco who spoke three languages. The room was a double was clean although one thing Americans have to get used to is the size of these places. Remember, these houses may have been homes to wealthy Victorians but were certainly built some time ago, it's impossible to have the same sq footage as back in the US. It is a basic hotel, but the main concerns were met, clean, tidy, a place to shower.
Fit For Purpose!

A small hotel, only 10 rooms, but quite well organised. I booked a single room, room number 10 it was upon check-in, located on the 3rd floor. There's no elevator, so stairs it was!
The check-in was simple, yet the guy at the reception gave all necessary details I needed to know, i.e. about the key, door access, closure time, internet etc.
The room, albeit small, was complete, tidy and clean. Since I'm here for business I just need a place to sleep, not a room to spend time in.
At night I opened the window for some fresh air, and noticed that when I closed the double windows (not double glassed, really two windows!) the noise from the street completely disappeared!
For me this was an ideal solution, nearby where I had to be, and thus Fit for Purpose!
Great for the price

I loved this place, it is very basic but the location is awesome. Friendly staff and clean simple rooms. It is what you pay for. The only downside is the absence of an elevator and no one to help you carry your suitcase up the stairs, but it is an old building so i guess the absence of an elevator is a given. The wifi worked great.
Basic but nice

Basic hotel but it is what you pay for but I carnt complain, rooms where nice and clean, nice shower, working TV and radiator, only stayed 1 night and was perfect for what we needed, great location 10 min walk from Oxford Street with loads of shops, friendly staff. Not posh but we didn't want a posh hotel.
