for the sticklers, i know its not a 5 star like one would consider a glitzy Ritz Carlton but one of the nicest places I've stayed at and top notch from my perspective.
We were in town for 5 days and our first impression of Halifax began at the hotel. The staff were amazingly friendly. After flying a red-eye from Vancouver and arriving at 9 in the morning, we were shocked when told we could check in and get a room. Awesome! I was a little surprised at the parking fee ($25) but found that parking space is very tight in the downtown core. The front desk was great. The valet guys were friendly. Amazed that everyone said "thank you" and "you're welcome". Don't hear that much great manners anymore, anywhere.
The room was very nice. Spacious, clean, nice tv and lots of electrical outlets and usb ports. Very convenient! Beds were comfy. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Nothing spectacular but better than many.
It was in a great location. We walked all over downtown for 3 days The hotel has all one needs for necessities. A very nice restaurant/lounge and a coffee shop. Don't be like my wife though and get confused when they wouldn't take her Starbucks cards lol.
(its not starbucks but they serve starbucks coffee) The Hertz rental office was also very convenient as we rented a car from the airport and could drop it off right at the "front door". There are so many locations to see, all in walking distance. Great historical properties, shopping, bars... too many to mention, A couple highlights were Alexander Keith breweries and the Citadel fort.
We had a great stay. Hope to come back for another stay

Having stayed here before, I had no reservation about staying at the Marriott Waterfront again. During my stay, I went to the lobby business area to print a file and noticed signs on both printers showing "Out of service". HUMMMM. What to do? I left the area to visit the front desk and seek options where I met Debra Simms the Director of Event planning. I advised of the situation. She gave me her business card with email address on it. I sent the file to her and within 2 minutes, I had my file ready to work on. WOW. Now that's service. Even when problems arise, a solution was fast at hand. Thanks

Reasonable hotel, great location, construction in the area notwithstanding, great Staff, Jon and Kaitlyn (???) at the front desk were awesome! The waterfront was lovely and very walkable, the hotel is mere blocks from just about anything you’d need.

Its a very nice modern Hotel much like any other. I come, I sleep, I leave. I was here for 4 days. on Business. The food was good the staff were nice the service good.
I had never been to Halifax before. Location, Location, Location.
I arrived on Saturday. Asked the desk for recommendations to a restaurant. Got them wrong ended up in the Lower Deck. Was there till past 0100. Up early and walked the Harbour. Down to the distillery and up to the Citadel.
Then out for lunch in another Pub.
Every Evening was similar, Halifax is excellent. This hotel is right in the heart of it.
Pretty much like any other Hotel. But its in Halifax.

Stayed for one night, excellent location. Close to everything in the downtown area, parking onsite, although $30 per day is a little steep! That is self park add an additional $5 for Valet parking. Room was clean and comfortable, beds and pillows comfortable again. There is a restaurant in the lobby, coffee shop Starbucks was closed on Saturday at 5 was a bit disappointing however they open early Sunday morning. All in all great visit, very friendly check in staff, this is always my first choice when staying in Halifax.
