Highly recommended for a short break in Lisbon

Stayed at Hall Chiado for one night for a short trip to Lisbon on the way home from the Azores. The property is in a great location, very central with easy access to metro, bus and tram routes and plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. I would recommend a visit to Gelato Davvero for amazing ice cream and Fabrica for good coffee, both very nearby.
It's also only 5 mins walk to the nearest Aerobus stop at Cais do Sodre station so very easy to get to and from the airport.
As we were only there for a short time the 'not a hotel' concept worked well for us as we didn't really have a need for hotel staff/facilities, everything worked smoothly with the pin codes and the extra large lockers in the luggage room were ideal for the day we checked out as our flight home wasn't until late and we could leave our big suitcase there securely (note that you'll need 1 EUR). The complimentary bottled water in the lobby was appreciated and there is a lot of info, maps and restaurant suggestions left there if required.
We stayed in a standard double room at the front of the building (room 5). The room itself was light and airy with high ceilings with full length french doors and was spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom which was large and modern.
The only downside was that the room was quite small so there was little space for our luggage, this wasn't really an issue as we were only staying one night but for a longer stay it might be worth upgrading to one of the bigger rooms or suites.
As the location is on a main road, with the windows open the traffic noise was extremely loud, however they're double glazed and once closed we could barely hear a thing. With the shutters closed at night we slept very well.
I would highly recommend Hall Chiado for a short break and would happily return again.
It's worth noting that the property is located on quite a steep hill and there is no lift to the rooms, whilst this was not a problem for us it might be for others.
Spacious rooms

We stayed here for two nights. We had a bit of trouble finding it from the airport bus stop but once we did, we were very pleased with our choice. The room was quite minimalist but spacious and had everything we needed. They were nice and clean too.I really liked the use of Portuguese tiles on the walls and the cork floors. The bathroom was a good size too with a great shower. There was a safe and there was ample storage for our clothes. Free water in reception was a great touch and very welcome. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not provided but there were plenty of places nearby to eat in the area. The hotel was convenient for public transport and the waterfront and was within walking distance of a lot of the main attractions. We had a room at the front which was a wee bit noisy, due to this being the new 'in' area in Lisbon for night life but this was the only drawback for us. I would certainly stay here again.
Great location , stylish simple , clean room.

Fantastic place as mentioned in the Vuitton City Guide , you get your PIN number and let yourself in - arrive early you can store your luggage in a locker. There's a little supermarket across the road if you want some cool drinks or snacks . Lovely bathroom and really comfortable beds. The Airport Bus stop is a short walk away as is the train/metro station and the also the ferry terminal.
Perfectly located, cool AirBnB/Hotel Mix

Perfectly located, right in the center of Bairro Alto, most cool sights are easily reachable on foot or nearby public transport. Taxi to Airport ca 15 euro, hotel gave us a free ride with Taxi App download. Super nice apartments/mini flats with little kitchen. Practical, modern and nice looking furnished. Clean and new. No check-in needed, everything is organized online. You get a digital key for the front door and your apartment via email. Best value for your money, very recommendable. Could not be better for what it is.
Good place, great location....

This is not a hotel (even their business card says not a hotel :) ) It looks like a regular apartment its very small just 8 rooms but it looks like it was just remodeled since all of the furniture looked new. Rooms very small but cozy. we had 2 rooms(5 of us) enough space but no closets (we stayed for one day so it wasn't a big deal). Keep in mind they don't have staff 24 hrs a day they will provide you with the key code for the door downstairs and your room but owner of the place made sure you can always reach someone they will give you their phone number. Also they offer free water bottles by the entrance, candies and posted on the wall they got list of local attractions which I found very useful. (make sure to take a trip on Nosso Tejo(one of the few original boats left which departs few blocks away at the ferry terminal). Keep in mind this place has no elevator so if you have a heavy luggage you will have to carry it yourself one flight up or store it downstairs in luggage room. Overall this place is great for short term stay and close to everything(walking distance to metro, train station and sea port and many great restaurants around.)
