The hotel was superbly located for our requirements. Despite the location next to a busy interstate, it was quiet. The staff is friendly, courteous, helpful. It felt good not to have to search for a breakfast place, since we were able to avail ourselves of the complimentary breakfast.

This hotel fell short of my typical Hilton experiences. I stay at Hilton properties almost every week and I'm rarely disappointed. I will stay somewhere else when I return to the Columbia. I know the building is going to undergo a renovation. I'll try again when I know it's done.

*** Room had a MUSTY SMELL. It took a little getting used to and in a HOTEL, you do NOT expect to walk in and get a nasty smell. ** There was ONLY a HALF Roll of Toilet Paper and no other under the sink or anywhere else. ** No Bath mat/towel that goes on the floor outside the tub. Almost as if the intent was to come back in and nobody did? ** No Fridge ** Only 2 FLAT / OLD pillows on the bed. (Usually 4 pillows, and we stayed at 2 other Hilton hotels (one other Hampton Inn and a Home2Suite) on this week's trip and this one was only one where there were only two and they were crappy.) ** I usually stay at Hampton Inn's, so from expecting the standard Hampton Inn comfort, this one was very disappointing and I personally will not recommend it to anyone. ** Breakfast was typical and perfectly fine. ** Staff was fine, very courteous. (Ironically, this and the last Hampton we stayed at in Selma, NC and neither asked how the stay was. new policy NOT to ask?)

Dark spots in the parking lot. St
Squeaky door, like haunted house squeaky. Had to charge my phone in the bathroom because none of the other plugs worked properly and one almost overheated my laptop. Not sure why they hang the shower curtain backwards.

Nice hotel right off the interstate close to restaurants and shopping. In the process of getting its outdoor pool rehabed. One of the few hotels that still has smoking rooms. Complimentary breakfast is very basic and not my favorite out of any hotel chain.
