brendarD498MYon 19/11/2017 02:53The staff was pleasant and the property was very clean. Rooms were very quiet and breakfast was great with a lot of choices. Including waffles, eggs and breakfast meat. We had a great time there and there was free internet that worked.
Basic Hampton Inn
Trainman334on 17/11/2017 17:11The place was quiet...which was surprising, since it was sandwiched on a small footprint between Rt 50 and the Montrose airport. It was clean and breakfast was fresh and ample. For some reason, we were booked into a handicapped access room. I booked through their 800 number after finding it impossible to do so through their website. The agent and I never talked about handicapped access. The hotel did have other rooms available, so I'm not sure what happened here. Upshot of it was that the bathroom was bigger (although with negligible counter space) and the room was smaller. We've stayed in squeezed quarters before so this was not any kind of hardship. It was just peculiar in the circumstances. There is not much right nearby this property. A gas station/convenience store is immediately north of the hotel and you can walk there. The north end of downtown Montrose starts about a mile south...meaning that if that's where you want to go you have to make a left turn across route 50. This maneuver can be challenging during rush hour. Once, we went north to a light (about half a mile or so) and turned around there to go south. Other than that, it's comfortable. Oh...the price. At $129...$140 with tax, too high for this area and these accommodations. Also: If you are towing anything, don't try and go around back via the south side of the hotel. There are very sharp turns front and back and no parking at all in the rear. As I said, this is a very small footprint for a property not in an urban setting.

robertaj625on 13/11/2017 05:28The Hampton Inn boasts helpful staff, comfortable beds, clean rooms and both a quiet and friendly atmosphere. I always enjoy my stays at the Hampton. The breakfast staff got me the yogurt I wanted and the front desk gave an extra bottle of water
Enjoyable Stay
Jewel1963on 30/10/2017 04:58We spent 5 days at this hotel. It was very clean and parking was convenient. The room seemed smaller than usual and over priced. There was a lot of noise in the hallways from doors slamming loudly, etc. The staff was friendly, although the front desk clerk had some issues on check in and also did not seem to know the area very well. This is somewhat of a must in a tourist community. The biggest complaint would be the noise from the highway and the nearby airport.
The broom closet room
Michael Con 21/10/2017 15:02My wife and I have stayed at Hampton Inns across the country. This particular property was called a "hometown" structure. The room we were given, at a premium cost, was the smallest hotel room we have ever stayed in. Ever.
